If you’ve been with the same insurance company for any length of time, some will reward their clients with loyalty discounts. Watch out though, the fact is that not all companies offer a loyalty discount, and for those that do, it’s typically around 5%. While you may feel enticed to stay for the loyalty discount, there could be a much better rate out there! The only way to find out is to shop around! It never hurts to get a few quotes from other insurance companies and I can... do just that! You will not lose your loyalty discount for simply shopping around. The only way you would lose your discount is if you find a better price and switch companies, at which point you have a better price anyway. You’ve got nothing to lose, so why not click that link below to get a quote and start shopping! The added benefit to a brokerage like ours is that we have access to multiple markets. So, if your price increases with a particular company, I can shop your insurance each renewal to get the best coverage at the best price, all while still showing your loyalty. It’s a win-win! #insurancequote #loyalty #insurancebroker https://www.brysoninsurance.ca/natasha-lucas/

Does Leasing or Financing Affect Car Insurance? If you are getting a new car, you might be wondering whether leasing or financing could be cheaper for your insurance. There is generally very minimal to no effect on your insurance caused by whether you lease or finance the vehicle. Rather, your driving record and insurance history, where you reside, and the type of vehicle you are insuring are factors that impact your insurance rate. The only significant difference for your c...ar insurance if you lease the vehicle is that the leasing company will be listed on your policy since it technically owns the car. Since you are required to protect their interest, you will likely have to purchase collision and comprehensive insurance for the vehicle. Most people will have collision and comprehensive coverages on a new car anyway, and it’s smart to have because without it, you're on the hook for any damage to it that occurs due to a collision or if it is vandalized or stolen. Ultimately, leasing or financing a vehicle should not affect your car insurance rate, given that you are taking the recommended collision and comprehensive coverage. If you’re financing or leasing a new vehicle, get a free, no-obligation quote! #carinsurance #autoinsurance #insurancebroker

With the recent Deer Creek community house fire on Buggey Lane in Ajax (video in article) we thought it would be important to answer this question: What happens when your high value home suffers a fire loss but is only insured with a standard homeowner's insurance policy? As one of Bryson's New Business Specialists, I'd love to share some insight. https://www.brysoninsurance.ca//hidden-risks-standard-ins/

While your home insurance policy is good for a full year, remember that as your life changes and your renewal comes, it’s imperative that you update your broker with the new insurance needs. Here are some life-changing situations when you should call your broker about your home insurance policies. If you’re planning to renovate, or have already renovated, the project usually adds to the value of your home. Update your policy to have full coverage of your home’s replacement ...value. If you get married or divorced, you might need to add or take away a named insured or change from a tenant to home policy (or vice versa). Someone moves in/out of your home, including short-term rentals or tenants. If you’ve acquired new valuable items such as fine jewelry, or art, etc. it will affect the coverage you need to cover the cost of lost or stolen items. If you start operating a business out of your home, you’ll need coverage for a home-based business. If you don’t report business activity, you might invalidate certain coverages on your policy. Updating plumbing, heating and electrical can save you money on your home insurance, so let your broker know if you’re updated any of these. If you’re reading this post and you’re not sure your property insurance is up to date, reach out to your broker to make sure you’re fully covered! #homeinsurance #broker

You might be surprised how insurance companies handle demerit points. Keep reading to find out. Insurance companies don’t base your premium on the number of demerit points you accumulate, but they do look at the number and severity of the tickets you have. Out-of-province tickets will also appear on your record. Any suspension is likely to raise your premium with an insurer as well. The general rule is the more tickets you have, the more likely your insurance will rise, rega...rdless of demerit points for those convictions. Most insurance companies will count traffic violations against you for up to three years and the charge affects your premium from the renewal date of your insurance, not the date of the conviction. So our best advice is the practice safe-driving habits to avoid getting a ticket and seeing a rise in your insurance premium!
