We YYC It’s time to lean in. These are extremely difficult times. Under the government’s most recent restrictions we are still able to offer service to our families, and for that we are so grateful.... We’ve opened up every Saturday in December for naturopathic care - to ensure everyone needing support gets it. If you can’t find a time - PLEASE call the clinic - we’ll figure it out! We are leaning into our own support teams big time - as well as prioritizing healthy food (have you tried the liver pate from @bruheyyc ?!) and sleep . Routine. Routine. Routine. A few reminders as we move through these next few weeks > 1. We ask that if you are able to switch your follow up appointments to telemedicine, it would be very helpful. 2. If you require an in-person appointment, please wait in your car until the time of your visit. This helps reduce clinic congestion big time. Minimize the number of people joining you at your appointment, when possible. 3. Product pick ups will be done by curb side. You know the drill - connect with Linda to arrange . 4. Speaking of Linda - she’s pretty awesome. We know stress is super high and she works hard to extend kindness + compassion to everyone . Thanks for your patience if checking out or picking up your product takes a bit longer these days. We miss seeing your smiles and long for the day when this is behind us. Reach out. Ask for help. We’ve got this.
Our local community needs us in a big way. Let’s support the vision of what we want things to look like when we are through this all.... A beautiful message from our friends over at High-Vibe Health
Rhythm balances out polarity. Focus on finding your groove - your daily rhythm - and stick to it. It serves to anchor you during these tumultuous times. It allows your hard working adrenal glands some reprieve amidst the uncertainty of today. It’s quite powerful. Remember, too, that rhythm doesn’t mean rigidity. In fact, it’s the basis for adaptability and flexibility. Any repeated actions require less and less energy over time, freeing up much needed space for healing - phy...sically + emotionally. Nature teaches us that when contrasting elements collide in nature, it is rhythm that provides the connection between them...think of wave patterns - as water hits the earth. Right now, more than ever - as the polarity around us intensifies - we can find refuge in the simple acts of our daily routine. Maybe it’s lighting a candle before bed, praying upon waking or dedicating yourself to eating nourishing meals, slowly (instead of inhaling them on the run ). Whatever it is, commit to it. If we don’t - we run risking our days being dictated by outer circumstances and people. Let’s face it - this is exhausting... And those if you with lil’ones who are experiencing the heaviness of our times, they will feel the benefits of rhythmically living - almost immediately . What’s ONE thing you will commit to? #anthroposophy #lifestylemedicine #rhythm #backtobasics #adrenalreset #authenticself #bodyliteracy
Test. Don’t guess. Inquire at your next follow up. We can set you up to have your Vit D levels tested - so you can supplement accurately, if necessary. ... #vitd #test #immunesupport
Remembering those who gave up their tomorrow so we could have today.
H O T flashes...some women become susceptible to these as hormones fluctuate around the time of menopause. As I approach my 45th birthday Im keenly aware of how important it is to deeply nourish my hormones as I prepare for the next phase of life . I think it can be awesome, freeing + beautiful, as well as challenging and confusing. Im constantly inspired by women who find meaning in the many phases of our reproductive lives.... Gratefully (and not surprisingly) nature has provided many tools to explore during this time of transition. Schisandra chinensis can be a safe and effective complementary remedy for menopausal symptoms, especially for hot flushes, sweating, and heart palpitations.. It has a super interesting flavour too - almost kind of sour. Its been the subject of much research. Heres one for you if youre interested > Park & K. H. Kim (2016) A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of Schisandra chinensis for menopausal symptoms, Climacteric, 19:6, 574-580 If you feel youd benefit from natural support for your hormones, were here for you - to provide gentle guidance for your body + mind. www.integranaturopathics.com #naturopathicmedicine #menopause #yycnd #hotflashes #naturalsupport #hormonalhealth #endocrinesystem

Do you know what got Arnel intrigued with naturopathic medicine? At the age of 19 he was diagnosed with a life threatening auto-immune disease (ask him about it next time you see him, hes super open about sharing his story). A hyper active thyroid and heart failure were not easy to manage and conventional treatment was unsuccessful at providing lasting relief and support. Gratefully naturopathic medicine was a TOTAL game changer. The integration of both schools of medicine... literally altered the course of his life and to this day serve as a constant reminder of how amazing natural medicine is. Many are shocked to learn just how sick he was - and how far hes come. Beyond surviving to THRIVING. www.integranaturopathics.com

@drchrisbjorndal this one is good! More women need to know this... The Pill does not "fix" your hormones . The oral contraceptive pill is offered as a treatment for many physical and mental issues, from irregular periods and acne, to PMS anxiety and depression. ... But heads up to every female out there - the pill does not "fix" anything, it is an overhaul of the female reproductive cycle and it stops all natural cycling, overlaying it with synthetic hormones and a "withdrawal bleed" - which in fact is not a real period. Learn more and get informed about your body and your choices! I wrote an article about this issue, available on my blog at christinabjorndal.com/blog/ See more
A fantastic, local company . Have you tried natto?
HYDROSOL - often referred to as flower water - these potent (yet subtle) solutions can be used in a variety of ways: sprays, compresses, added to lotions + even recipes. This is my first go at creating a hydrosol - using the method outlined in The Boreal Herbal, by Beverely Gray. Its no shock my first hydrosol is rose - collected with deep appreciation from bushes growing at my Dads home in the mountains. ... Known both traditionally and in modern research circles for its affect on our nervous system - I think we all need some rose healing in our lives after what 2020 has brought our way. Its been said that rose helps us remain open hearted when we are faced with conflict and struggle; builds trust; encourages openness and a courageous interest in life. Ill let you know how it goes! #rosehydrosol #heart #cns #nervoussystem #heartcentered

Reposting the wonderful @a.generational.mindset - thank YOU, Jenna for this post . || Last night was my last group session in Radical Rhythms, a Menstrual Masterclass I found so helpful + would highly recommend (Thank you to Dr. Andrea @integranaturopathics for offering this valuable information ). In this session, we chatted about the importance of having a healthy microbiome to support menstrual health, particularly in order to reduce any yeast issues (which can cause... MANY issues, including brain fog, sluggish energy, water retention, bloated or distended abdomen, among others). One specific action item we discussed to support a healthy microbiome is ditching the chemicals in personal care products. Heres why: Heavy metals feed yeast. Many pigments found in colour cosmetics (lipsticks, eyeshadows) are sourced from the ground, and may contain heavy metals. This is why it is so important that cosmetics are tested for heavy metal contaminates. Xenoestrogens (i.e. parabens - which are commonly found in MANY personal care products or cosmetics.) disrupt beneficial flora. These fake estrogens make it very difficult to grow beneficial microbes in the gut. Lowering our exposure to toxic chemicals has such a positive impact on our health. And its up to us to be informed and know what we are putting onto our bodies...because these nasty chemicals are still commonly found in many personal care products.|| Want more info on clean cosmetics? This evening is week 3 of our menstrual masterclass - and we get to launch into all things PMS + menstruation. Teas are a fabulous way to support the ebb and flow of hormones during this time of our month. Its well known that drinking rose tea can reduce the symptoms associated with painful menstrual periods. Researchers looked into this, with adolescent girls, and published a study in the Journal of Midwifery and Womens Health (2005;50:e517).... No surprise here - those drinking rose tea had significantly lower levels of menstrual pain, distress, anxiety, and perceived stress and higher sense of well-being than the control group after one month of treatment; well-being, pain, distress, and anxiety, continued to improve during the course of the study and were at their best after six months. #teaislife #rose #pms #menstrationmatters #rosepetals
What an awesome way to start my day! Malcolm Saunders and I got to chat cyclical living and how our awareness around our menstrual health is both empowering and vital during these times .
This week we welcome Linda back to work! Weve missed her SO much! Curb side pick up continues this week > Tues/Thurs/Fri
