Very interesting to see that others have a similar mindset and sense of aesthetics. "The design by Mr. Kwong and Mr. Prabhu doesn’t shoot for the moon in any artistic sense. It’s an instance, not of avant-garde haute couture, but of efficient modern tailoring. Come to think of it, the other elderly architectural matrons in my neighbourhood could use exactly this kind of up- to-date stitchery. I hope they are taking note of the newly frocked house on Emerson Avenue". This sentence widely summarizes the philosophy behind our Manor Rd project which reminds me of this one.

Interior Affairs is working on a brand new project on Manor Road, in Toronto. The inspiration for this design/build project is the classic barn whose familiar and approachable lines have been given a bit of a modern twist. The result is a bright and very cool dwelling, built on a private corner lot in the heart of Mount Pleasant village. There will be two floors of living space (plus a basement): the first floor is completely open and features a Boffi kitchen, with top of the... line appliances, a spacious dining/living room area, a family room overlooking the south facing garden as well as a powder room and a closet space. On the second floor, you will find a large South facing master bedroom, with its master ensuite and walking closet, as well as two additional bedrooms with an adjoining shared bathroom. Other key features will be a open riser staircase, skylights, black framed windows, wide engineered hardwood floors...
