Thanks Lloyd Jensen for being such an awesome community supporter!

Interlake Community Foundation 29.05.2021

Today marks the largest grant, by far, that the Interlake Community Foundation has ever made. The grant paid out was for $294,540.00 to Ducks Unlimited Canada for the operations of the Harry J Enns Wetland Discovery Centre. ICF's Chair, Bob Beck, was on hand for the presentation and said "The Harry J Enns Wetland Discovery Centre is an important part of our community, not only for local employment, but also for the tourism that it brings. It is a tremendous area to explore y...ear-round." The funds will ensure important climate and green education efforts continue for decades into the future. The grant comes from the Harry J. Enns Oak Hammock Marsh Endowment Fund, administered by the Interlake Community Foundation. An annual grant paid out from income generated by the fund will provide reliable, steady funding for the outdoor education programs Ducks Unlimited Canada delivers at the Wetland Discovery Centre. Honorable Ralph Eichler, MLA for Lakeside attended the presentation. We are very grateful to the Manitoba government for creating this endowment fund. Karla Guyn, Chief Executive Officer of Ducks Unlimited Canada, commented: "This funding is key to instilling the importance of conservation and environmental stewardship within the hearts and minds of thousands of people who visit Oak Hammock Marsh. We're extremely grateful for the investment that's being made in the future of our award-winning facility."
