Hello everyone! Today I had the pleasure of treating the lovely miss Jenna who is a beautiful pregnant mama! Jenna came to me today as her SIJ were super painful and her sciatic nerve was terrible! I see this a lot in my practice with my pregnant patients. The muscles that compress the SIJ can also compress the sciatic nerve causing radiating pain down the affected leg. Mobilization and fibre lengthening will resolve this troublesome pain issue. My sweet Mama Bear was ...my videographer today, I think she’s enjoying her new role! Hope you enjoy! Tummy time! I had the pleasure of watching this pretty little lady as I worked on her mama! Sometimes it’s hard to find the time to take care of ourselves especially if we have children. Keeping healthy is so important for our selves and our family. Thank you Joanne Leeson for the photo!

Mama Bear, enjoying her morning tea on the deck. It’s a beautiful way to spend the morning, as I prepare to see patients. It feels good to begin seeing everyone again. The Laser, or Zimmer as I call it now, has been an incredible addition. So glad to be offering it to my patients! Have a blessed day everyone! ... Liz Felix Manual Osteopath Intuitive Health

Hello everyone!!! Today, my sweet Mama and I talked about the clinic process for seeing patients! We are so excited Friday, June 12th the clinic will be open to treating patients again! What you can expect when you come for your treatment:... 24 hrs prior to your appointment you’ll receive a health assessment questionnaire, you’ll need to complete this in order for me to see you. When you arrive at the Harriston location, please stay in your vehicle. I will come out to get you. At the Arthur Location, please stand by your vehicle so I can pick you out! I will provide you a mask and take your temperature using a infrared thermometer (thank you Sherry McRobb from Family Home Health Care Centre for providing it!) Both the Harriston and Arthur locations have Air Purifiers with HEPA filters. Only one person in the treatment room at a time, (unless you are under 12 yrs old or require assistance) On another note, I’ve added a Class IV laser to complement my ultrasound and electro therapy machines! I’m thrilled to be offering this to you - please note only the Harriston location will be providing this. And lastly, my sweet Mama, who has loved all of you so very much, is heartbroken that her visits with you have been suspended! Greeting you is such a joy to her, she’s really quite put out! Until next time friends! Blessings to you! Liz Felix (and Mama) Manual Osteopath Intuitive Health

Hello everyone! We’re a little late in posting our video this week. My sweet Mama was under the weather on Tuesday and just wanted to take it easy! I thought about doing it by myself, but honestly, I’ve really enjoyed this time with her and couldn’t do it! So today we are back to the thoracic spine, we got off track before after Mama had some balance issues. ... In today’s video we looked at some stretches to help alleviate thoracic spine tension. The thoracic spine is where your ribs attach. They begin at the base of the neck and continue down the spine until the bottom of the ribs. When doing these stretches, try diaphragmatic breathing first to activate the diaphragm and open in the intercostal muscles (muscles betweeen the ribs). Remember to breath deeply when stretching to maximize the stretch. Anyway, my lovelies, have a beautiful day in this gorgeous sunshine! Until next week!!!! Ciao! Hello everyone! Today my sweet Mama and I had a great time talking about hazards in the house. Honestly, she is so much fun! She keeps me on my toes! I actually hadn’t planned on doing this topic but after last weeks topic on falls and the need for core balance, it seemed right.... Sometimes we think about falls as being an ‘old persons’ issue, well that isn’t necessarily correct, anyone at any age can fall, though it is true, the older you get a fall could be catastrophic for you. However, at any age you could get injured. Injury, like lets say a sprain, could create a future weakness, let me explain first what I mean. Let’s say you sprain your ankle, maybe you even have some tendon tearing, during the healing process, fibroblast proliferation, the collagen may not be as organized - in laymen’s terms, the scar tissue is less flexible, making it prone to further injury down the road. Now fast forward 10, 20 years and that same ankle gets re-injured, only this time you don’t bounce back the same way as you did before. Minimizing risks today, maximizes your future, corny, yes, but true. So lets talk about what you should be looking at in and around your house. By the way, I have a checklist that I can upload if you want it. Below is a generally summary of what we talked about. - Keep entrance and hallways clear of clutter (and laundry baskets ) - Keep power cords safely out of the way - Install night lights - Ensure good lighting on all external doors - Consider a grab bar for bathtubs - If you have a slick bathtub floor, get some of those non slip grips for the bathtub. Talk to Sherry-Lynn McRobb at the Family Home Health Care Centre in Palmerston, she’ll have some awesome suggestions for you. - Reduce the need for a step ladder (or kitchen chair...) in the kitchen by storing frequently used items in an easily to access spot - Ensure mats have the non skid baking - Ensure railings are installed in stairways - Keep a list of emergency numbers out. Well my dear friends, that’s it for today! Thank you again for tuning in! It’s so much fun to catch up with everyone! Oh, if you have any questions about today, feel free to DM me! Until next week! Love you all! Liz Felix (and sweet Mama!) Intuitive Health Manual Osteopath

Hello everyone! Today we were supposed to review the thoracic spine, but instead I decided to talk about balance. On the weekend, my sweet mama and I were working on the flower beds together and I noticed her balance wasn’t as it was pre surgery. Yikes!!! Not good! So I thought this would be a great time to review this with everyone. Now, you may be thinking that balance isn’t an issue for you, after all you’re young. But remember as we age, every year, unless we work ...at it, we loose some range of motion and flexibility. It may not be an issue today but when we hit our forties, fifties, sixties etc, it becomes an issue. And this issue could rob us of our independence. Independence and quality of life go hand and hand. Please, please, please, don’t forget that. What you don’t use you will loose! And if you’re not an active person, don’t worry! Any age can do this, but it’s important to remember to start at your level for example, if you’re not a walker than do 5 min of waking 10 times per day. You can slowly increase your walk and decrease your rotations as you become more comfortable. The goal is to get to 150 min of moderate activity per week. The exercises in this video are basic. If you want more moderate or harder ones please DM and I can review these with you. As always everyone, thank you for tuning in. My mama gets such a kick out of doing these, even if she does give me the stink now and then! Take care! Liz Felix, Intuitive Health Manual Osteopath

Helloooooo everyone! As promised, today my sweet Mama and I went over the lumbar spine and looked at different stretches to help alleviate pain for that area. Remember to do some dynamic stretches pre stretch to warm up the body. You should never feel pain when stretching and if you do back it off or don’t do that particular stretch. Thank you to my sweet Mama for being my volunteer (LOL! If you could see the eye rolling pre video you would laugh!)... Take care everyone and be safe, remember to tune next week as we’ll be reviewing the thoracic spine, and we’ll put Mama Bear into a pretzel...joking! She’d refuse to make me cookies if I did that! Any questions about todays video feel free to DM me. Until next time friends! Liz
