Constant Reminder (also known as CR) is a sweet rock band made up of four brothers who all live in Saskatchewan. These boys have been busy recording for the last few years and have the most albums I've seen a group record (7 I think). The boys are from James Smith, a community nextdoor to Kinistino where I grew up! I've known them for years and have watched them grow into fine musicians. With Seth's solid guitar riffs and Cole's velvety, booming voice, their songs are packed with fun and will get you moving. We had a heck of a time at Prairie Sun Brewery last weekend performing at the Craft Beer and Cheese Fest! We ran into a few friends and made a few new ones too. Do you want to be our friend? -Pinecone Lewis Almanac- Session 2 Rugged Little Thing... We have known Jille and Ryan Shotton of Rugged Little Thing for multiple years now, and we adore everything they do! Jille is one of the first female Canadian clawhammer banjo players we met and it is always exciting to see what new tunes she and Ryan have hidden in their belts. The duo has had a crazy busy year playing shows all around the prairies and even had the time to get married somewhere in the summertime! They also taped a beautiful video with the empty room series of their song "take a number" which is linked at the bottom of this Almanac post. Please take a listen! Welcome to the BRAND NEW 'Pinecone Lewis Almanac'. This Almanac will feature one artist or group on the first of each month that we find incredibly interesting or simply love with our everlasting souls! This month's featured artist is Micah Erenberg of Winnipeg, MB. I first met Micah when we shared the bill at Vangelli's opening up for Petunia (another great Canadian artist). My love for Micah's music started with the first song I heard him perform, which was Green Green Rock...y Road. His voice is infectious and his simplistic songwriting style is both charming and hilarious.
