Inside Out Theatre are excited to announces the Artistic Basic Income program, providing direct, unrestricted cash support to artists with disabilities, d/Deaf artists, or Mad artists/artists living with mental illness. Two artists will be chosen via a lottery draw to receive $6,000 to be used in whatever way the artist chooses, all in an effort to support their art making by covering their basic living expenses. Open to self-identifying artists with a disability, d/Deaf arti...sts, and Mad artists/artists living with mental illness living in Alberta. Because we know that Black, Indigenous, and Artists of Color may face additional barriers and marginalization, Inside Out Theatre will guarantee that at least one of the artists will identify as coming from one of these communities. Inside Out Theatre will celebrate and promote any work created by these artists but will not expect any work to come back to Inside Out, by which we mean this isn’t a commission or artist residency.
