I've been thinking about this for a while. Why is it that the health & fitness industry has grown into a multibillion dollar a year market (true story) yet more and more people are becoming sedentary, overweight, unhappy and generally unhealthy? I think one of the major factors for this is the fact that we live in such a "convenient" world. Where literally everything can be done and purchased on your phone, on your butt right "in the comforts of your own home". From online s...hopping, food prep companies, maid services, mobile personal trainers (that's me) and property managers...if you can pay for it, you really don't need to do much of anything anymore. And sadly some people don't even want to pay for it themselves. Credit cards allow you to buy anything, anywhere, anytime, without barely lifting a finger, other than to scroll to the checkout of course. As a society, we've become increasingly LAZY because we've put such an emphasis on convenience. And it works because the concept sells itself. Most likely due to the fact that we're all "so busy" we don't have time to do anything like make food and walk to the store. Listen, everybody's busy so it's all a matter of priorities. It's not that you're too busy to exercise, it's just not a priority for you. Bottom line, start avoiding the path of least resistance once and while. Do your groceries (in person, not online) and make a few extra healthy meals to put in the fridge for later. Or better yet, walk to the Farmer's Market and buy some real, raw, nutritious food. Take the iPad away and go to the park with your kids and maybe just maybe run after them pretending to be a monster or dinosaur. Don't be lazy, do some things that take effort and that make you move. Remember, the more you move the longer you live, period. And stop being fooled by all the fancy marketing of convenient and time-saving products and services...if there's one thing you don't have time for it's exactly that NOTHING IS GIVEN EVERYTHING IS EARNED . #motivation #realtalk #lifecoaching #startmoving #exercise #behappy #livelonger See more
