Thank you to all who have supported our work through Isaiah Projects in the rural highlands of Quiche, Guatemala. We have packaged up food staples and will deliver to 90 families to help them weather this Covid storm. Our work continues little by little as we continue to partner with Ana María.....our boots on the ground girl who has a such a passion to work with and for her people!

Sounds of family splashing over the walls...children playing....smell of smoke as they prepare their almuerzo....noon-time meal. I had the honour of meeting this kind soul Lucas with his granddaughter Dina who was helping him to prepare food....corn tortillas. Lucas graciously invited me in to have a seat as we spoke about the current situation in the world. Primero Dios......First God he said ......this is a very common expression here. PS I politely declined and we discussed social distancing. #SimpleLife #WhyIGuatemala #PleaseShare

Meet Santiago Victor!! What a precious young man. I hiked up to the pueblo this morning to get sugar so the teens in the house can make some cookies. Everyone hankering something sweet. Anyways bought 4 small bags....really only need 1......4 different stores!! Do my part to stimulate the economy of Santa Cruz La Laguna. It is a population of about 2000. Predominantly Mayan people who speak one of the 21 Mayan languages. In this community the spoken language is Kaqchikel. Two villages over it is Tz’utujil. It is a fascinating culture. Graciousness .....I swear ....is woven in the very fabric of their being!! #HoledUpInGuatemalaDay13 #GuatemalaHerPeople
