Iqaluit Recreational Basketball

With the new regulations coming out we have decided to shutdown until further notice. There will be no basketball tonight, once we have a date we can reopen I will post an update. Stay safe everyone!

Good news! We are able to start playing basketball again! Due to current public health orders we will only be able to have a limited amount of people in the gym at a time so we are requiring players to register before hand to be put on a schedule. To register either message Ben Westwell or email [email protected]. We will need the following information to register: Full Name Email Address Phone Number... Preferred Time Slot Registration will be $20 and we are only allowing players 16+ to register. The available time slots are: Saturdays 6-9pm at the Middle School Sundays 6-9pm at the Middle School Monday 6-9pm at the High School We are only allowing 24 players into each time slot and it's first come first serve. If you're preferred time slot is unavailable you can choose another one or if all time slots are full you will be put on a waiting list. Hope to see everyone out on the court!

I regret to inform everyone that we are suspending all of our activities for a minimum of two weeks to do our part to stop the spread of COVID-19. In two weeks we will reevaluate the situation and provide an update. I hope everybody has a good two weeks and remember to wash your hands!

Just now A lot of heavy hearts here in Iqaluit today. Yesterday a basketball champion, legend, icon and hero passed away. No one here has ever met Kobe Bryant but every single one of us have been affected by his legacy. His competitive spirit, love for the game and success on and off the court inspired basketball players around the globe. Kobe Bryant may have died but the Black Mamba still lives on in all of us because idols never die. This one was for you Kobe.

There will be no shoot around tomorrow afternoon at the highschool as they are hosting the craft fair. Activities at the middleschool are still happening. Have a good weekend everyone!

Unfortunately there will be no basketball this Saturday or Sunday due to both gyms being used. There will still be pick up basketball Monday 7:30-10pm at the highschool. See everyone on Monday!
