Elahé Omidyar Mir-Djalali Institute of Iranian Studies at the University of Toronto! Dr. Mir-Djalali and the Roshan Cultural Heritage Institute have supported many of the conferences and symposiums that I have organized and participated in over the past two decades. She has generously provided critical support for many of our advanced graduate students and colleagues at the University of Toronto. The Elahé Mir-Djalali Omidyar Institute for Iranian Studies is a tremendous deve...lopment for the University of Toronto. It will foster collaborative transdisciplinary research by faculty and students working on all aspects of Iranian history, literature, languages, and arts across the University of Toronto’s three campuses. The new Elahé Mir-Djalali Omidyar Institute for Iranian Studies’ lecture series, postdoctoral and dissertation completion fellowships, language training scholarships, and visiting fellowships for pre-tenure faculty will establish the University of Toronto as an unrivaled site of scholarly excellence and innovative scholarship on Iran. With active educational programming, the Institute will also contribute to the Iranian diasporic community’s scholarly engagement with the University of Toronto faculty, students, and visiting scholars. I am grateful for the Roshan Cultural Heritage Institute’s generosity and for the critical support provided by President Gertler, Dean Woodin, the former Dean David Cameron, and Professor Timothy Harrison, the Chair of the Department of Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations. Special thanks also to colleagues at the Advancement Office of the Faculty of Arts & Science, who made this achievement possible through their dedication and exceptional work. https://www.artsci.utoronto.ca//u-t-receives-us6-million-e
