Since July 2020, the RPD has held more than 10K hearings remotely, providing access to justice for over 20K #refugee claimants, while minimizing the risk of transmission of COVID-19 on our premises.
Our consultation process on the revised Chairperson’s Guideline 9: Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE) was recently completed. We would like to thank all those who took the time to provide us with thoughtful and helpful comments. Your input will help further strengthen our Guideline.
The #IRB is constantly seeking to enhance the quality and consistency of its decision-making processes. That’s why we conduct quality performance reviews. The latest report is now available: Quality Performance in the Immigration Division 2019-20 https://irb-cisr.gc.ca//reviews-au/Pages/id-qmi-19-20.aspx... Overall, the report findings show that the Immigration Division met the objectives the Board had set.

The Digitization Advisory Committee recently held a consultative meeting on our digitization vision and initiatives. Our ambitious digital agenda sees us simplifying our processes, enhancing the effectiveness of our exchange of information, and eventually offering the option of accessing all files electronically. The advisory committee is essential to the successful implementation of our vision. With the collaboration of our stakeholders, we are ensuring that the Board is responsive to the needs of those who appear before us and that our initiatives are user-centric in design. Thank you for helping us design our roadmap to the future!
