Good afternoon! Please see the attached posters for the Diamond Empowerment Scholarship Fund. The Diamond Empowerment Fund was established in 2008 to assist youth in the diamond mining communities of the world. This fund is now available to youth living in the Northwest Territories and the Kitikmeot region of Nunavut through Diamonds Do Good Scholarships. Now in their second year, the Diamonds Do Good Scholarships give back to the communities that are near diamond mines. ... The goal of the scholarships is to assist youth, 18-30 years of age in the Northwest Territories and the Kitikmeot region of Nunavut who are seeking additional training and/or education that is needed in their community. Five Diamonds Do Good Scholarships will to be granted this year in the following fields: Vocational Training (One Scholarship) Entrepreneurial Training for Setting Up Businesses (One Scholarship) Post-Secondary Education, with emphasis on STEM (Three Scholarships) Each scholarship is $5,000. Eligibility Applicants must: Be a resident of the Northwest Territories or the Kitikmeot region of Nunavut. Be between the ages of 18 to 30 at the time of application. Have been accepted into a vocational, entrepreneurial, or post-secondary education program. Submit a completed application form accompanied by: a cover letter explaining the need for a scholarship and how your training or education will benefit your community a letter of acceptance to a vocational, entrepreneurial, or post-secondary education program. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Hotì ts'eeda announces Eetsatseed (Support Each Other) $5000 bursary created to help NWT students impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic Yellowknife, July 14, 2020 Hotì ts'eeda is pleased to announce that it is offering bursaries to students in the Northwest Territories (NWT) who can demonstrate how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted their ability to continue their post-secondary education and identify how a bursary would help them continue to pursue their educational goals during this challenging time. The bursary name Eetsatseed, means support each other in the Tcho language.
