Hi Folks, I wanted to do a second video to speak to some specific goals and opportunities I think we can work towards here in Antigonish. The passion and talent in our community is very inspiring and with the right planning there are no limits on what we can accomplish together. Please leave me a comment or send me a private message with your thoughts on this video. Would you like to see me as your next mayor? I very much hope to earn your support on Oct 15th. www.irenemacleod.ca

Irene On Event Coordination & Promotion When friends and family visit do you know where to look to find out what is happening in our own backyard? I feel that Antigonish has a long way to go in creating a central depot of event information. Not just a website, but the coordinated promotion and updating of such a resource is essential to take all the wonderful events that do happen and shine a bright light on that work. We have some of the best volunteers in the country, it is... a real shame to see any of their hard work not getting noticed for lack of awareness. Do you know of a great event that was under attended? Have you had trouble finding out what to do with the family on the weekend? What is your ideal vision of event handling in our community? Let’s talk! http://greatplacesincanada.ca/gpic_pla/downtown-antigonish/

Irene On The Master Trail For Antigonish Plans are currently in the works to create a green loop that will encompass the whole of Antigonish and tie together all the various existing trails that already populate our beautiful community. Can you imagine a single path that will tie all of our paths together? Exercise, non-screen time with family and friends and investment in green spaces has never been more important to our shared quality of life. Would you support the effort ...to create unified master trail? Do you currently use any of our existing trails, and what do you have to say about them? Let’s talk! www.irenemacleod.ca

Irene On Accessibility It has been said that "A society will be judged on the basis of how it treats its weakest members." (Pope John Paul II). Accessibility for seniors, and others with restricted mobility, is an essential service for our community. If we want a safe environment, where all members of the community feel comfortable to get out and visit, shop or stroll, we need to speak louder and clearer than ever before. Can you share a story or two with me on how accessib...ility has affected your life? Do you have a suggestion that can improve the quality of life of friends or family? Let’s talk! www.irenemacleod.ca

As the anniversary of 911 approaches I can't help but think about the role that the firefighters played. We are very blessed in our Town to have such a strong committed volunteer fire department. So a shout out to Chief Bill Chisholm and all our volunteer community fire fighters and their families. Your there when we need you and your commitment to training and education is appreciated . Thanks for teaching our children about fire safety, advocating for highway twinning and the countless hours of getting prepared for the call. We may not say all the time but thank-you!

Its back to school day! It comes with a lot of mixed emotion. End of summer , back to schedules and this year some serious traffic. We're not used to gridlock. What are your tips on beating the slowdown while the Braemore Bridge is being completed?

What do STFX students think of Antigonish? This year several hundred students spent the summer living and working in Antigonish. They added energy and diversity to our community and I would like to learn how we can increase this trend every year. I would like to hear what can we do as a community to keep students here? How can we engage with the university population to share information? What lifestyle are young grads looking for and how do we rate? What can we build on? Please leave your feedback in the comments below and share this post if you know a student in our community. Let's talk! www.irenemacleod.ca
