An extensive photoshoot at Ashbridge's Bay Park was conducted with a friend involving several outfit changes as well as several beach locations, all within Ashbridge's Bay Park. Equipment: Camera 24-70 lens... Silver lined reflector Trusty assistant that didn't utter a complaint that they were getting baked in the midday sun I approached this photoshoot with the attitude that the only way we were going to get a great set was with good moods and good attitudes. It required a bit of patience both from the modelling and photography perspectives. Other than some sand in the shoes, the shoot went without a hitch. The photos were edited with the intent to create a little variety, rather than a cookie-cutter preset, so some are quite differently-done than others.

Flowers and Furry/Feathered Friends pt. VIII A few special treats in this photo set, we have fluffy goslings, a shrew (neat!), flowers whose identity I am unsure of, and the legendary cardinal in some late afternoon sunlight. Edit: although Ive considered placing food out as cheating, a friend justified it by saying its essentially paying the models for the photography. ... 1/160 s to 1/800 s f/5.6 to f/8.0 ISO-200 to ISO-1600 500 mm

Flowers and Feathered Friends pt. I Once again had an absolute blast shooting birds and various plant species at the botanical gardens. An Uplifting Moment Most of us can admit that, since childhood, we have found large machinery and vehicles exciting. Coming across these gents lifting a large object onto the roof of a building, I couldn't help but stare in amazement then run to get the camera. Sure the crane and atmosphere are spectacular, but how does one capture the excitement of the situation when the background is rather busy, the sky white from the morning sun, and objects placed randomly throughout the... scene, making composition difficult? This is my attempt at presenting the excitement I saw. 1/100 s to 1/2000 s f/2.8 to f/11 ISO-80 24 mm to 70 mm
Beautiful Afternoon in Toronto pt. VII - Street views The finale of the downtown set. It was a lot of fun photographing these settings as well as presenting the work. 1/160 s to 1/2500 s... f/2.8 to f/9 ISO-64 24 mm to 70 mm See more
Beautiful Afternoon in Toronto pt. VI - Street views This photo set ventures a little further from realism and employs a little creativity in the photo finishes. Sometimes it's not simply about how reality actually appeared while you were there, but rather how everything made you feel. 1/160 s to 1/2500 s... f/2.8 to f/9 ISO-64 24 mm to 70 mm See more
Beautiful Afternoon in Toronto pt. V - Street views More of the fantastic downtown core. 1/160 s to 1/2500 s... f/2.8 to f/9 ISO-64 24 mm to 70 mm See more

Beautiful Afternoon in Toronto pt. III - Street views and Torontonians With a little imagination, every part of downtown presented opportunities for different snaps. The sky was bright blue with puffy white clouds and the TTC buses as red as ever. And, as always, there were plenty of adorable pups getting some fresh air that didn't mind posing for a pic. 1/160 s to 1/2500 s... f/2.8 to f/9 ISO-64 24 mm to 70 mm See more
Beautiful Afternoon in Toronto pt. II - Street views and Torontonians Reflections of old city hall in the skating rink pond are beautiful during both daytime and nighttime. Many people were out with their furry friends, including one that looked like an adorable golden teddy-bear. 1/160 s to 1/2500 s... f/2.8 to f/9 ISO-64 24 mm to 70 mm See more
Beautiful Afternoon in Toronto pt. I - Street Views It was quite an adventure walking down Toronto's downtown core and snapping images of buildings and various street views. Even the clouds and sky cooperated to produce stunning blue and white contrasts. This turned out to be quite an extensive photoshoot of the city centre and I am pleased to present part I in this series. 1/160 to 1/2500... f/2.8 to f/9 ISO-64 24 mm to 70 mm See more
War in 1/35th scale A photo set featuring a flakvierling quad cannon in 1/35 scale. Particular attention needs to be paid to where the focus is as well as the depth of field. 1/5 s... f/11 ISO-64 70 mm See more
The Hive Parts of Toronto photographed during an overcast day with little to no contrast and at night. A lot of atmospheric disturbance can be observed in the daytime shot, despite it not being particularly warm out. The night shots feature extensive construction projects, both residential and Metrolinx-related. Day:... 1/160 s f/8 ISO-64 360 mm Night: 30 s f/11 ISO-64 38 to 70 mm
Spring in Toronto pt.VII - More adventures on the trails This photo set features another mischievous groundhog, a robin, as well as two police officers from the mounted unit. Meeting the officers and horses was quite a treat and quite a wonderful photo shoot. Unfortunately, I had gone out with the intention of photographing wildlife and only had a long lens with me. Photographed in the Don Valley Park trails, Toronto.... 1/500 s f/7.1 ISO-1000 to ISO-1600 500 mm
Spring in Toronto pt.VI - Wildlife Continuing to sneak through the woods in search of interesting critters, I stumbled upon and interrupted these little guys still trying to find their shadows. They were curious but still wouldn't let anyone come close. A little bit of patience and keeping the noise down while waiting close to their dens allowed for some great images. The last photo is an American Robin, a member of the thrush family. Photographed in the Don Valley Park trai...ls, Toronto. 1/500 s f/7.1 ISO-1000 to ISO-1600 500 mm
Spring in Toronto pt.V - Wildlife A little bit of sneaking around was necessary to find this red squirrel perched on a tree. E.T. Seton park was quieter than usual in terms of the critters roaming around. As it was late afternoon, once-again, a rather high ISO was used, which wasn't ideal. Photographed in the Don Valley Park trails, Toronto.... 1/500 s f/7.1 ISO-1600 500 mm
Spring in Toronto pt. IV - Flora and Fauna A walk in the botanical gardens in early spring presented quite a few opportunities for plant and wildlife photography. This set features a male Mallard duck, snowdrops, and a plant whose identity I'm not sure of. Any ideas? All images were captured in the wonderful Edwards Gardens, Toronto.... Edit: thank you to Barbara W. for pointing out that the plant in the third image is eastern skunk cabbage! 1/200 s to 1/500s f/6.3 ISO-500 to ISO-900 340-500 mm
Spring in Toronto pt. III - Wildlife More woodland creatures from the botanical gardens. Images were captured in the ever-magical Edwards Gardens, Toronto.... 1/250 s f/6.3 ISO-1600 500 mm
