I read an article last night that science can now prove that trees do have an actual heartbeat It beats once every 2 minutes. It now makes perfect sense why we feel re-energize after we surround ourselves in nature. These branches are filled with the beat of life.

I cannot wait for the clock to strike midnight and this year to end, said my friend over Facetime this afternoon. She couldn’t stop expressing just how tough this year had been. Constraints... Fear Change To list a few ... I almost felt she was right, and had me almost saying, yeah, let’s kick 2020 to the curb. But, then I stopped and reflected on my own story of 2020. And, I know before I even begin that my story is one of privilege and it’s in stark contrast to the story of so many others. But please do know that we also choose how we want to see in things. We don’t always use this super power to the max but the reality is, we are the masters of our own views in any situation. This year I’m grateful for having learned how to slow down, get uncomfortable and adapt quickly to whatever was happening that day. As an empath, I felt more than ever connected to the work I did for my clients. Clients reaching out and the support I received from colleagues was thoughtful and appreciated. It wasn’t easy to adapt to a new model of capturing from a distance and not getting personal with younger children. But we managed getting around it by getting zoom chats and introductions taken care of ahead of time. I got to spend time with my kids, which I will forever cherish. It wasn’t a walk in the park most days but I learned from them resilience is the key to success. A lesson I probably never would of learned outside this vortex. I also gardened to my hearts content and enjoyed putting together our backyard space. This alone was grounding and fulfilling for our family. I look forward to 2021 and enter it with no big plans! I will continue to take it day by day, breath by breath. Thank you for being here and I wish you and yours a bright and healthy start to 2021

Take flight I was in a half day workshop today learning about working the bravery muscle. My biggest take away was when you realize something is hard, do it anyway. We tend to naturally step away from hard things because they feel risky and way out of our comfort zone but the reality is those are the actions that make us grow. So let’s act with a bit more bravery for 2021 and see where it will take us. Share with me something brave you’ve done recently?!

No matter the weather. We hit the playground! Do you have an all year round activity you enjoy too?!

What you quickly see: Little girl sitting by a lake. What you could see: A hiking rest stop. Sitting on a hand made bench positioned by a lake. A spot where the wind catch’s the cheeks on a cold winter day but yet the sun warms your body with its rays. A sense of mystery seen on a little girl’s face, can you tell the thoughts running inside her mind, is she happy/sad? Where is this location? How long was her hike? Was this taken before or after her hike? Could you answer an...y of these questions by looking closely? Most importantly who was this photo taken for? Lesson: We are all quick to judge photo images. We do so because we bring our own simplified version when we see them. Most of us take moments because we want to remember or freeze time. It’s a personal record. But what we should all remember is WHO will view these photos in the future? Who will YOU share these images with? Your children? Grandchildren? How will you share them? Computer, loose prints, albums .... Begin to study your photo practices. Have a question Leave me a comment below.
