Hi Irish dance restarts thursday sept 24th at 6pm in rideau heights -we will be following all covid rules -the numbers are limited -some of the class will be outdoors (weather permitting) -face masks are required as well as distancing --as an extra precaution ii will be doing touchless temp checks periodically as well --tony

Hi all hope everyone hada great summer since everything at the schools is a bit up in the air I have been offered rideau heights community centre on a Thursday evening for irish dance (I was there on a Sunday afternoon but it was not the best time as a lot of the irish dancers are tied up with Church on a Sunday afternoon and Monday was not available) i have asked for 6pm start and have the main hall for the evening --the classes will restart this month (sept) but I’ll send out an email and post it on irish club Kingston on facebook -tony

kingston irish folk club in cooperation with tir na nog has decided to postpone the celebration of st patricks day in montys --we will continue with the small groups of free irish dance classes and teaching musical instruments and celtic songs with all appropiate measures in place in rideau heights tony tel 613 3890754

Annual St Patricks parade in Kingston is this Saturday (march 7th) assemble 1230 in skeleton park (aka mcburney park) starts with a wreath laying commemoration at the celtic cross at 1pm followed by a parade via clergy street , princess street then Ontario street to cityhall where a letter on behalf of the kingston Irish will be read to councillor Jim Neil representing the people of Kingston -thanking them for assistance during the great irish hunger (an est 300 kingstonians... died and are buried in skeleton park assisting the est 50,000 irish immigrants coming through Kingston in 1847 ) (an additional est 1,0000 Irish died and are buried under the parking lot at Kingston General Hospital) Following a display by queens marching band and cheerleaders then there is a celtic get together in tir na nog (beside cityhall) featuring irish dancers and fiddle earth till approx. 430pm --Everyone is invited to participate in the wreath laying at skeleton park plus the parade to cityhall and the ceremony as well as the celtic get together in tir na nog you don’t have to be Irish to join in-- everyone is welcome --for more info tony o’loughlin founder and president -Kingston irish folk club - tel 613 3890754 or irish club Kingston on facebook ---tony See more
