Kim Dixon, Congratulations on your 20 years at IRIS! Kim has been in the optical field for 44 years! When she started at age 20, there were very few female opticians in Alberta. She always had an old-fashioned work ethic and is known for her sarcastic sense of humour. One of her favourite moments at IRIS happened many years ago: I fit an eight-month-old girl with her first pair of glasses. I will never forget the look on her face; She could not stop looking around the room... and looking at her mother. She knew something was different for sure! She and her husband Kevin Dixon are partners at IRIS Calgary Bow Valley Square, and they travelled around the world together thanks to IRIS. She tells us that they don’t have grandchildren, but 3 grand-dogs! She is a big fan of Transitions lenses. She has them in all of her many pairs of glasses, and she received the IRIS Optician of the Year award in 2010 (that’s right!!!). ’ !
