Happy Mother’s Day! - This is the 1st Mother’s Day since becoming a mom that I’m not working and hosting our Mother’s Day brunch. It’s been difficult adapting to all the changes but today it was definitely nice to brunch at home with my boys and enjoy a quiet day. - These are pictures of our wedding day with my mom. She was not only standing by my side as my mom but also as the creative genius behind my dress’(yes I had two dress’) her dress and all the bridesmaids dresses.... She was also hosting our wedding on her property. If I ever doubt my creativity, I know I just need to look to her! Hey! This is us :) - Ben & Ginette. A little introduction for you all - we are a Husband & Wife team, who in normal times runs a quaint B&B and offer wedding services(catering, coordinating and decor) in our small town of COMBER. Weve been at it for 6 years. Sometimes it feels like 6 days, and sometimes it feels like 20 years. Either way - we love what we do - and we love creating. The best way to describe what we do in a few words: Creating unique experiences. Weve won a... bunch of awards in the last few years, but none can compare to the daily satisfaction we get of working with people. Food is at the center of what we do - and local is all we do. We are quite fortunate to live in an area where our backyard is the grocery cart for the country. We have amazing producers and partners that we are proud to calm our friends. We have had a LOT of new followers lately - is it COVID, is it the Bread? Either way - we want to give you all an update on where we are at in our world, a world that we cant control these days - but we can shape eventually. A message from Ben and Ginette: As we navigate through these difficult times, we want to start talking about the future - but the future is completely uncertain. A big fear of ours, is the number of summer weddings that we are playing huge rolls in. We are talking about a wedding per week, at the very least. In anticipation of whats to come, and in being proactive, we want to let all of our guests and clients know right now, that we have completely stopped booking events fo...r the foreseeable future, in order to assure that we have the most amount of dates available to postpone and rebook your wedding/event. You are our priority and our biggest concern for our business through this crisis. Our calendar for 2021 is pretty open. Please do not wait until the last minute to reach out to us. By being proactive and pessimistic about the situation, you will ensure that your wedding vision can come true, even if you postpone it by a year or more. 5 years ago, we walked into the The Iron Kettle Bed & Breakfast full of hope, ideas and dreams! I mostly thought we were crazy for leaving our comfortable careers and routines in the GTA. Now, I cant imagine what our lives would be without this house, the people we have met and mostly the people we have become! Thank you for supporting our ideas as a B&B and encouraging Iron Kettle Events to keep creating new exciting events and helping others with their own events!
