We're happy to announce that after 10,795 submissions My Sisters' Place was voted the winner of the final $10,000 #IronstoneImpact donation! We are beyond grateful to the Ironstone Building Company and everyone who took the time to vote for My Sisters’ Place, a program of Canadian Mental Health Association Middlesex (CMHA Middlesex). Our program is partially funded but relies very much on the support of our community for a significant portion of our operating budget, says ...Kristy Bell, Manager My Sisters’ Place. Our fundraising activities were limited this year due to Covid-19, so this generous gift means a lot to us. With $10,000 we can serve approximately 3000 mealsnow that’s community impact! Week four of #IronstoneImpact falls on Remembrance Day and we are honoured to contribute to three local organizations making a difference for veterans: The Holy Roller Memorial Preservation Project, the Victory Legion Branch Poppy Fund, and The Royal Canadian Legion Byron. On behalf of the 1st Hussars Cavalry Fund I want to thank Ironstone for their very generous donation to the Holy Roller Memorial Preservation Project. The funds raised will go towards preserving the Holy ...Roller, which many people know is a tank that fought in the second world war, and it was home to many of the soldiers in the 1st Hussars and it brought them home safely, says commanding officer LCol Allan Finney. The second donation, to the Victory Legion Poppy Fund, will help house local veterans experiencing homelessness. We currently have 12 housed, but we also have 10 we are trying to get housed. This donation will go a long way to supporting that endeavour," says Victory Legion Service Officer John Sluggett. The third donation, to the Royal Canadian Legion Byron- Springbank, will help fund the organization during a year when Poppy Fund donations are down.
