Yesterday Mayor John Tory asked the City of Toronto Executive Committee to support a motion directing staff to study tunnelling and/or grade-separations for th...e Eglinton West LRT. The motion passed with unanimous consent. I welcomed the Mayor's decision yesterday because I believe that an at-grade LRT down the middle of Eglinton Avenue would be unacceptable and I have been fighting on behalf of our community to tunnel the LRT, along with our local city councillors Stephen Holyday and John F. Campbell. Tunnelling the LRT would be better for transit riders, better for drivers, better for taxpayers, and better for our community in Etobicoke. Yesterday's announcement would not have happened without our advocacy and I would like to thank Mayor Tory for considering our input and for taking this important step. Project High Class Update: Property Recovered Available to Victims of Break-and-Enters on Website The Police have set up a website to help re-unite victims of a recent wave of break-and-enters with their stolen property. The Major Crime Unit at 22 Division recently arrested 8 individuals and recovered nearly $500,000 worth of stolen property, including jewelry, cash, coin/stamp collections, electronics, expensive handbags and hundreds of watches. Please see below: An online p...ortal is available to the public to view items recovered by 22 Division as part of the Project High Class Break-and-Enter investigation that ended in January 2017. Investigators believe the break-and-enters mostly occurred in the area of 22 Division. If anyone believes they had property stolen that may be part of the investigation, they can visit the Property Identification Program Project High Class Webpage. Please note users must have reported the theft to a police service before visiting the site and have their report number available. The Property Identification Program is a webpage where items of property that have been recovered by the Toronto Police Service are displayed in an effort to reunite owners with their property and support Toronto Police investigations. Anyone with information regarding the Project High Class investigation is asked to contact police at 416-808-2200, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416222TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637).
