With SSUNS - Secondary Schools' United Nations Symposium 2020 officially closed, we wanted to highlight the incredible work from this year's Media Coordinator, Kareem Hammami! Q: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where you are from? K: Montreal Your year at McGill? K: U3... What you are studying? K: Environment and Geography Your position for SSUNS 2020? K: Media Coordinator Q: What was your first experience at SSUNS? My first experience at SSUNS was in 2017 as a CEGEP delegate in DISEC. My role was the Russian Federation. It was only my second Model UN conference, and the high calibre of that conference was truly a baptism in fire. Q: What staff roles have you held with SSUNS previously? I was previously an Operations Coordinator and a Photographer/Videographer. Q: Walk us through what your role as a Media Coordinator looked like: Creating videos for a zoom conference is difficult. The role was planned on producing a documentary, highlights of Montreal, and walking around the Sheraton collecting photo and video media for a closing video. But with SSUNS Online, we had to adapt all that to work around zoom. First, we had to pre-record and edit the opening ceremonies and had to compile footage from zoom committees to create a closing video, as well as edit zoom photos." Q: What were you most looking forward to for SSUNS this past weekend? Seeing all the delegates and staff in action. I was so excited to have brought something they love to this unique platform of an online conference.
