FLEX FACTS 1. The flex of a stick should be about half of a player's weight. 2. When standing on skates, the stick should not go past the chin. 3. Younger pla...yers should use a slightly shorter stick to enable a good knee bend while learning how to pass and handle the puck. 4. As players get older, stick may get slightly longer to enable more flex when shooting (player preference and also determined by style of play). See more

Curtis Presber has served on our association board for years and Carson Presber, his son, is one of our own. Carson was diagnosed in July 2020 with a Germinoma ...Tumour growing on his brain. Carson is a tough & fighting hard. Carson is now done round 3 of chemotherapy. He has one more round to go before he starts radiation. Due to the location of the tumor, his critical development age and the potential long-term side effects, the oncologist has strongly recommended that he receive Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) for his radiation treatments. At this time, there are no PBT treatment centres in Canada so some of the Presber family will need to relocate to one of the few locations in the USA that offer this treatment for 2 to 3 months. Needless to say, this is a big change, both emotionally and financially, from what was initially planned. Carson’s Army is a support group setup by Luke Day & James Parsons. They have a few fundraisers started to support: 1. Be sure to pick up your Carson’s Army bracelet at Source for Sports or the Boathouse if you haven’t already done so. 2. Register a Team for a fun mini-golf tournament to raise support. Enter a team, or play solo in this fun mini-golf fundraiser. $15 per player. Corporate hole sponsorship will be available ($500 per hole) and individual drop off donations will also be welcomed. We are working on the ability to issue tax receipts for donations. Please email [email protected] to register. 3. Donations from recycling can be made at the REDI Bottle Depot now. Once you've completed your bottle return, take your receipt to the counter and ask to make a donation to Account #46 (Carson's Army)! Please show your support for Carson and the Presber family
