Weekend work! I was contacted to install LVP in a home office for an RMT in Bowmanville, but it quickly turned into the living room and two bedrooms too! Ripped out carpet upstairs, patched over ceramic tile downstairs, then installed throughout with finger joint shoe trim to finish. Not a small weekend job! Installed fresh new plush carpet in a walk-out basement for a lovely woman in Newcastle. Large living area, two bedrooms, and one heck of a staircase! That curve was something else but it turned out great. She’s looking forward to bringing the furniture back in and enjoying the new look!

It’s been a while since my last post. COVID-19 has been extremely difficult and frustrating to deal with. Stops and starts, delays, lockdowns... but hopefully things are starting to turn for the better, for everyone. Thanks to everyone who has called and messaged throughout the lockdown. It looks like things are opening up to the point where we can start to move forward with new projects! Been a few small projects here and there, but here’s the latest big one. Another new condo building in Coburg, this time with 1/4 plywood and glued down LVP.

Another massive weekend project! An absolutely wonderful family here in Bowmanville contacted me to install LVP throughout the main floor of their house. Tore out carpet and installed plywood in the kids room, then floated the LVP right over the existing secured hardwood and tile. Put in shoe mould trim to finish it off. Even installed it on the stairs to the basement. Carpet time! Luxury condo building in Barrie. They’re replacing the original carpet from roughly 20 years ago in the hallways. We’re removing the old pad, laying down new DuraCushion, and then installing this beautiful carpet with a HUGE 3x3 pattern. Thankfully the hallways are the right size to be able to center the pattern just right. It’s a lot of work, but a gorgeous result. My old apartment NEVER had this kind of luxury!

Here’s the finished product! This home was actually the old sales office for the subdivision. The cork underlay helps soften the noise, and also brings the vinyl plank up level with the tiles in the bathrooms. Someone is going to be moving into a VERY nice home!

This coming Wednesday is November 11th, Remembrance Day in Canada. Even in times like these that many of us find difficult, it’s important to stop for a moment and reflect. We are fortunate to live in a country that offers so much hope, love and opportunity. Even though Canadians may debate a lot of issues, it’s important to recognize that, without the sacrifices of those before us, we wouldn’t be afforded the freedom to have those debates. Sneak peak of the next project, a brand new build in Peterborough. 5-3/4 wide LVP floated over natural cork underlay all throughout. The proper way to install plank flooring is to ensure a minimum space between your end joints, while varying the distance from row to row. The staircase look in the joints can stand out, it looks much more natural when they’re randomly staggered.

HUGE weekend project! A wonderful young family just moved to Bowmanville and has been dying to renovate. They had me come in and do the entire main floor. Sitting area, dining room, kitchen and living room. Started by ripping out old laminate, then put down 3/8 plywood to come up level with the kitchen tiles. A bit of patch, and then installed gorgeous LVP from Torlys all throughout. Finished by replacing the old baseboards with brand new 5-9/16 colonial baseboards. Also installed carpet on the basement stairs but forgot to snag a picture... whoops. Stunning new look in the house! Now they just need some furniture...

Fresh new laminate in a walkout basement in Peterborough. Love how bright it makes everything look. Bit of a bummer I didn’t get to see the finished corner fireplace, but I have no doubt it’ll look amazing!

Did a main-floor project for a local family in Bowmanville this weekend. Started by ripping out old, separated laminate in the living room and installing new 1/2 plywood. Then patched out the ceramic tile in the kitchen and foyer, and put in all new luxury vinyl plank. Finished it with shoe mould trim. Privileged to be taking part in a collaborative initiation with Floortrends @floortrendsltd and Peterborough Housing. This effort is designed to help fight homelessness in the Peterborough area, and our team was happy to contribute! Another repeat customer! Remember this living room? After doing it and the kitchen in LVP, she ordered more and had me come back to do her two bedrooms and the bathroom. Luxury vinyl plank is a great way to get a consistent look throughout the house, even in water areas like kitchens, bathrooms and basements. Marks Work Wearhouse in Lindsay, ON. Ripped out old carpet, installed carpet tile, 1/4 turned throughout. Tough to see in the pictures but the tiles are accented with that Marks orange colour. Looks sharp!

Just finished a project for a wonderful couple from India, and they are two of the nicest people I’ve ever met! The husband was having respiratory/allergen issues with the carpet, so out it came, and in went brand new laminate flooring, complete with shoe mould trim to finish it off. It was an absolute pleasure to help them!
