July 27, 1950 Springhill Record Returns Home From Alberta Jim Bubbles Tabor arrived home by plane over the weekend from Alberta, where he had been working for the past five years. Jim, it will be remembered, lost a leg as a result of a mine accident at Hillcrest Mohawk No. 5. Early this year the leg was removed in a Edmonton hospital. July 20, 1950 Springhill Record Leo Perry Recovering From 2300V Contact Out of danger and showing an improvement in his condition this morning, Leo Perry, an employee of the Edison Electric Light and Power Company, is recovering from burns received when he came into contact with a high tension wire carrying 2300 volts. Just want to add to the story of Jimmy Gallagher's car accident. Although this was not in the Record I have been told the following: "Mac Hopkins was also in that car accident and sustained a broken collar bone. He was in the Moncton Hospital for several weeks."

July 13, 1950 _ Springhill Record Gallagher Car Turns Over At Port Howe Jimmy Gallagher’s new Chevrolet car is almost a complete wreck today as a result of an accident Wednesday evening about 10:30 when the car struck the gravel on the far side and left the road near where the Springhill bus upset a few years ago at Port Philip. July 6, 1950 Springhill Record Investigate Death of Harry Crosson Judge Welsford MacDonald, of Pictou, presided over the enquiry Tuesday evening into the death of Harry Crosson, who died in hospital as a result of an accident sustained in No. 4 Mine on June 8th. Mr. Crosson, a haulage driver at the 7100 ft. of No. 4 backslope, slipped and fell over the drum while the haulage was running.
