Tanya Talaga is an award winning Ojibwe author, journalist and truth-teller who wrote Seven Fallen Feathers: Racism, Death and Hard Truths in a Northern City. Following the stories of seven Indigenous high school students who died in Thunder Bay over a period of eleven years, she explores the history of this community and how it relates to reconciliation and Canada's dark reality of human rights violations against Indigenous communities.

My name is Danielle Nicolardi and I'm the Vice President of Events for the ISA this year I'm in my 3rd year doing an honours specialization in health sciences. I joined the ISA to become more involved with the Indigenous community at Western and have been able to create many meaningful relationships through it. I'm excited for this year and cannot wait to continue to learn and grow more at Western.
