The Allyship committee will be posting film recommendations all week for you to take a study break and appreciate some Indigenous artists and activists. Tune in on ISA's Instagram all week and then sign up for our film discussion panel held via ZOOM on Friday April 2nd at 1pm.

Tanya Talaga is an award winning Ojibwe author, journalist and truth-teller who wrote Seven Fallen Feathers: Racism, Death and Hard Truths in a Northern City. Following the stories of seven Indigenous high school students who died in Thunder Bay over a period of eleven years, she explores the history of this community and how it relates to reconciliation and Canada's dark reality of human rights violations against Indigenous communities.

My name is Danielle Nicolardi and I'm the Vice President of Events for the ISA this year I'm in my 3rd year doing an honours specialization in health sciences. I joined the ISA to become more involved with the Indigenous community at Western and have been able to create many meaningful relationships through it. I'm excited for this year and cannot wait to continue to learn and grow more at Western.

Even though we can’t physically be together, we wanted to show our support for #OrangeShirtDay We are smudging to honour the intergenerational survivors, and those who never made it home from residential schools.
