After our Skype today I attempted to go and make mom a Snowman outside her window Well the snow was like sand, not good packing snow so this was the outcome. I'll go back and make her a big one once we get some good packing snow. God love her,when I got there she was holding a picture of me, looking out her window not knowing I was coming. She's moved room's 3 times now in the past few weeks in an attempt to keep her safe from Covid and she is so confused. I want to thank everyone that has sent messages the past few days in regards to my mom & the current outbreak. She currently is safe and doesn't have Covid. They are however moving her again today to a private room(she moved last week) poor Momma is so confused. The home is keeping all the residents with Covid in one wing to try and keep it from spreading. Again thank you all for your kind words and prayers. It's killing me that I am so hopeless and can't help her. And thank you to all The Staff at Caressant Care Arthur for working so hard to keep our loved ones safe

Covid-19 how I hate that you are affecting our loved ones in LTC. For 7 long months I was not able to take my mom out. 1st they were in a respiratory outbreak back in February and then Covid-19 struck. Finally in September I could bust Momma out. Little did I know it would last less than 5 weeks. With my Mom's dementia 2 hours is about all she can do. I would bring her over and say "hey google play Momma's playlist" we would dance,sing and laugh with a glass of her favorite r...ose wine. When I went to visit today she thought she was coming over . I was so sad that we had to go back to our "prison visits" as I call it. Talking through glass with a microphone. Because of her dementia we had a staff member there assisting her with the mic. I miss being able to have Mom here in my home...no one listening , just her and I acting like a bunch of young girls laughing, dancing & cherishing our time we have left in this journey. I'm a very positive person but I also know with this disease the day is going to come when she doesn't know who I am. I just pray every night that we all smarten up, do what we need to do to stay safe, and I cross everything humanely possible that I can bring My Momma over for visits and music therapy soon See more
