We've got a new location for the new year. Unit 3 at 160 Corfield, right beside Oceanside Clothing and behind Thrifty Foods in Parksville. Better parking and a redesigned studio. Our last day at our old location will be December 23rd, and we will open at the new location on January 2. If you need to pick up anytime between those dates simply give us a call at 250 - 586-5225 to arrange for a time.
Looks like its going to be a great summer for wildlife photographers! This week it was a pod of Killer Whales living up to their nickname. These guys were a lot faster then the grey whale, I needed to take a lot of photos to get some in focus. It will take me awhile to go through them all and pick the best for the website, but Ill make a post once I have.
I finally got some of my favorite grey whale photos cleaned up and posted to the website. Be sure to check them out, and I will be offering prints on poster paper, art paper, or on canvas! https://www.islandexposuresgallery.com/
This friendly young grey whale spent over three hours feeding just off the shore by Beachcomber park in Nanoose Bay. It was almost like it was putting on a show for the neighborhood. Lots of great photos, will be doing canvas prints of some of the best. In a few of these shots you can see the cloud of debris under the water as the whale filters out food from sediment on the bottom. Photos were taken by myself and my father, Rob Roycroft.
We will remain open for as long as it makes sense during the outbreak. Surfaces are being disinfected after each visitor and we are limited to one customer in the gallery at any time. We ask all visitors to respect proper social distancing while in the gallery. If you have finished work to pick up and would like to limit any risk of exposure, we will be holding the work for you for as long as is required. Thank you for your understanding!

Just a heads up, we will not be open until 1 pm on November 11 for Remembrance Day!
The right frame can really make a work of art shine! One of my favorite series, this frame is made from pure unfinished hickory wood. No attempt is made to pattern or color match, so each frame is 100% unique. A natural linen liner adds an interesting texture and gives the art some room to breath. Also available in a beautiful dark walnut!
Were proud to announce the launch of a new website! Its a cleaner, more modern design that I hope is easier for everyone to use. Includes a new photo gallery that can be searched featuring art and photography from myself and Craig Carmichael. The new site is much easier to update and I will be adding new photos to the gallery every week. Feedback is welcome! www.islandexposuresgallery.com
Be sure to check out all the fantastic castles at Parksville Beach before August 18th! Heres an amazing drone photo giving you a preview of every entry at once. And keep an eye on this page for more drone photography showcasing local landmarks from a unique perspective.
