Association with spiritually inclined people and the study of scriptures and life histories of enlightened saints is called satsang. Our minds are deeply affected by the people with whom we associate. If we regularly associate with people who are aware only of the gross body and physical pleasures, our minds will grasp their thoughts and will become deeply imprinted by them. As a result the mind accepts everything received by the senses as real and the Self which is beyond t...he senses is rejected; neither truth nor love is experienced. On the other hand, one who engages in satsang develops higher consciousness, gains higher knowledge and gradually eliminates the fruits of ignorance, such as mental worries, pain and depression. One who attains liberation through satsang stops desiring desires, which finishes the illusion of the world. The mind becomes thoughtless and dissolves in God.

You don’t have to do something to make a bowl of water calm. Just don‘t shake it; don’t put your hand in it. Leave the water alone and it finds its own natural tranquility. The mind is exactly like that. ~Swami Satchidananda

F U L L M O O N Students often ask us why it is recommended to make ghee on the full moon. It is because maximum soma is present.... Soma is the principle of water, nourishment and bliss that complements Agni as fire, purification and knowledge. You can think of Agni and Soma as two sides of the same coin, similar to Yin and Yang, or the Sun and the Moon. Agni is the Sun aspect of the body, which radiates light and energy, while Soma is the Moon aspect, which reflects that light and brings rejuvenation and pleasure. Just as any dualistic partnership, both elements are found within each other, and rely on one another for their own existence. Like Ojas, Soma corresponds to Kapha dosha, and has the elemental dispositions of water and earth. When considering the Gunas, Soma also has an oily quality. The thousand-petal lotus is often called the seat of Soma or the Moon. In Ayurveda, Soma has multiple meanings. Here we are talking about the energetic essence of Soma. See more

UNTYING THREE KNOTS OF LIFE TO EXPERIENCE INTIMACY Three knots of life prevents us from experiencing intimacy and living fully. 1)KNOT OF THE BODY OR BRAHMA GR...ANTHI Cultural conditioning or physical and sexual abuse can create body armour. The body is persistently tense, defensive and frigid. Sex becomes a mechanical act rather than an experience of freedom and ecstasy. 2)KNOT OF THE FEELINGS OR VISHNU GRANTHI Many carry emotional trauma and neglect in their childhood and either they feel numb or suppress their emotions. They are not able to create deep relationships and give or receive love. 3)KNOT OF INTELLECT OR RUDRA GRANTHI Cultural conditioning or automatic negative thoughts create rigid thinking that leads to intellectual isolation. All three knots trap us, and we don’t experience intimacy in relationships. We become prisoners of our bodies and mind. Neither we fully enjoy the world, nor progress on the spiritual path.
