Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Canada has introduced measures to support seniors. They invested $1.3 billion in a one-time special payment through the Goods and Services Tax (GST) credit in April. More than 4 million seniors benefited from this top-up, which gave an average of $375 for single seniors and $510 for senior couples. They also invested in community organizations that provide practical services to Canadian seniors, including the delivery of groceries and medications. Government of Canada, August 2,2020
Can't wait for our seniors program to resume. COVID had left our seniors so isolated and depressed. Especially, those who has no family.

June is Seniors' month in Ontario. This year's theme is stay safe, stay in touch. It is a time when we recognize the contributions that older adults have made in communities across our province. Given current circumstances, we are focusing on engaging and bringing together seniors virtually, rather than in person. Ontario.ca

A society that does not value its older people denies its roots and endangers its future. Let us strive to enhance their capacity to support themselves for as long as possible and, when they cannot do so anymore, to care for them. Nelson Mandela
Elder financial abuse is a type of elder abuse in which misappropriation of financial resources or abusive use of financial control, in the context of a relationship where there is an expectation of trust, causes harm to an older person.
Social interaction for seniors is probably one of the true and tried and tested things that maintains people's cognitive and functional levels in the home. Across all cultures, lifestyles, and backgrounds, older adults want to remain in the community. They want to stay in their homes and they want to be surrounded by their friends and family. Social engagement is one of the most important aspects of growing older.
