In addition to the 12:15 pm afternoon games on Monday and Wednesday, Island Bridge Club will now be running an unstratified Swiss event that awards black points on Wednesday nights at 7 pm starting February 24, 2021. This format has just been supported for Virtual Clubs on BBO and there are still some bugs to work out - please visit the link below to find out more information for players. You guys did it! Over twenty tables, in fact you hit thirty! Considering it was father's day and not everyone plays online I think we all did fantastic! Alison Campbell takes home the prize for most masterpoints over the day, winning points in three of her sessions! Congrats. Justine did a awesome job doing my hair, and she even let me do some of her's. Though it'll take a few days for the stained scalp to go away . It's a very dark royal purple and I'm sure you will all get a kick out of it. I'm happy to provide all of you a chuckle!

This Sunday the 21st is the Longest Day for Alzheimer's research. I will be participating by directing and for a bit of cheer in the community Justine will be helping me dye my hair PURPLE if we reach 20 tables over the day! Come play and raise money for a wonderful cause and turn me into a grape!

Victoria CLUB Bridge is back in ONLINE format! The Unit 431 clubs will be running Virtual Club games on BBO, awarding black masterpoints at the cost of $5 BBO c...urrency (USD) for an 18-board game. Everyone who has played at a Victoria club in the past year is invited to come out at 12:15pm PDT for the rest of the week to play in a game limited to local players. Find the BBO game under ACBL Virtual Clubs starting 2 hours before (look for VICTORIA) then register with a partner. VBC will host games on Tuesdays and Fridays, Monterey on Thursdays and Saturdays, and Island Bridge Club on Mondays and Wednesdays. So let's get together and have some fun! I hope you are keeping healthy and safe over the Easter Holiday. First off, Justine and I would like to sincerely thank the bridge community for their outstanding support of Island Bridge Club. Your generosity and kindness has touched our hearts and will never be forgotten. I have some good news today regarding a temporary online fix for your daily bridge cravings. With the support of the website Bridge Base Online (or BBO) and the ACBL, BIll, Nicole, and myself have the ...opportunity of offering online club games that are restricted to those ACBL members that have played in the past in Victoria-area club games. You will be able to find these games in the Competitive category on BBO under ACBL Virtual Clubs. The first game is tomorrow April 13 at 12:15 pm PST with registration starting 2 hours before game time. I have included a video link to help those who are unfamiliar with BBO get set up and playing. This first game will be a trial and will cost $5 BBO to play and will award Black ACBL Masterpoints, just like at the club. Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions about the game or BBO. I will email information regarding subsequent games and times. There will be a variety of games held at different times and on different days so that all will have a chance to play.
