You've been following us for a while, but you're still wondering "What exactly is Island Crafted, anyway?" In short, Island Crafted is 'an online business directory of makers & artisans creating locally made products on Vancouver Island or one of the Gulf Islands.' The cornerstone of Island Crafted is our website, www.islandcrafted.ca (have you taken a browse yet?), but, as you can see, the secondary part is our social media feed, filled with posts highlighting our ...fantastic local creatives. IslandCrafted.ca was created over 2 years ago by me (hey, I'm Shawna, nice to meet you!) after I started to become more passionate about buying locally made products, yet, throughout my searching, I found it was difficult to find these local products listed online. One day I had an idea: 'Why not put my Web Developer skills to good use and create an online local products directory, making it easier for consumers to find the local products they are looking for?' As with starting out anything new, the idea was a little scary and VERY intimidating, but before I could talk myself out of it I decided to just take the leap, and here we are! Today, we promote almost 100 local small businesses on the IslandCrafted.ca website, and have created a great little network of local creatives. If you are interested in joining us, head over to www.islandcrafted.ca/list-with-us for all the deets! So, enough rambling on about me. What about you? What brings you to the IslandCrafted.ca feed? Are you a lover of local products? Are you a local product maker yourself? Are you simply here to "window shop"? I would love to hear from you all!
