The new guidelines have been released from the Manitoba Dental Association. Effective May 4th, dental treatment will be limited to emergency and urgent care only. We will be re-opening the clinic gradually and with limited hours, which are yet to be finalized. Our first priority will be to see those patients who had dental emergencies and contacted our dentists during our closure. These patients will receive a phone call from our office the week of May 4th. If you had a r...outine appointment (such as a dental hygiene visit) booked in the month of May, please consider it cancelled. We are currently in a position where we can assess and diagnose urgent dental issues, however the treatments which we can provide are still quite limited. This is due to the fact that we are waiting for the arrival of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and air handling equipment that will allow us to operate safely. We wish to thank you for your patience. We are committed to moving forward in the safest and fairest way possible and we appreciate your understanding as we phase back open. We will be reaching out to all patients whose appointments were cancelled during our closure. There is no need to call us to reschedule at this time. As you may have heard, the government of Manitoba has announced that dental offices may re-open as soon as Monday, May 4th. While this is good news, what has not been made clear is that the governing body for all dentists in Manitoba, the Manitoba Dental Association, has not yet released the new practice guidelines. Our primary concern is the safety of our patients and staff, therefore we will not be open until we can ensure that we are able to comply with the new guideline...s, once set out. One challenge will most certainly be the acquisition of personal protective equipment (PPE) as there continues to be a global shortage. Once we re-open, our first priority will be to treat those with urgent dental issues. All patients who had dental emergencies and contacted our dentists during the closure will receive a phone call from our office next week. Non-urgent care will resume at a later date. Therefore, if you had a routine appointment scheduled for the week of May 4-8, please consider it cancelled at this time. We wish to thank you for your patience.
