Calling all seniors in search of affordable accommodation, couples and individuals looking to re-locate, and small families in need of a fresh start on a family friendly island: Are you looking for a place to self isolate, rejuvenate and begin a new journey? Since it is recommended that we avoid large groups of people and spend lots of time outside during this global pandemic, choosing Malcolm Island is certainly the right place to abide by those guidelines! With only around 500 residents living on the island, you don't have to worry about over crowing anywhere you go here! We have a library of old and new books, a grocery store that delivers, a museum, thrift store, multiple take out windows and cafe's, and a gas station. We are located a short two minute walk to the ferry terminal and you only pay one way! Calling all Snowbirds: Are you looking for a place to go next winter to get out of the snow and the cold? Many of us will want to stay in Canada while we wait to see how safe it will be to travel. If you have to self isolate, why not do it somewhere beautiful and have a bit of an adventure too? It is recommended that we avoid large groups of people and spend lots of time outside. Malcolm Island is certainly the right place for that! You could come to Sointula and hang ...out with us for the winter. We have some snow but it usually melts quickly. It does rain here but we also have some fabulous sunny days. There are easy hiking trails and miles of beaches to explore. We are pet friendly and have great kayaking too! We are putting together a 6 month package for folks who want to spend their winter hiking, storm watching and generally enjoying our fabulous ocean views. We are changing some of our rooms to make them long term friendly and many of them have kitchenettes or full kitchens. We have a library of old and new books, a grocery store that delivers and a gas station. What more could you want? Oh, maybe a fireplace- we have some of those too!
