We already have enough to worry about with Covid, let us not have to worry about whether or not our kids are safe getting to and from school, as well!

The list of symptoms being screened for #COVID19 is being updated to reflect the epidemiology in Nova Scotia. In the past 48 hours have you had, or are you curr...ently experiencing: Fever OR Cough (new or worsening) OR Two or more of the following symptoms (new or worsening); Sore throat Runny nose Headache Shortness of breath If you answer yes to either of these questions, please call 811 for further assessment by a nurse. Hi, IVHS friends! If you've spent half the day trying to understand your child's Powerschool schedule, here is what I have determined and confirmed: After print...ing my daughter's schedule from 4 different places and comparing, it's definitely clear that there is no consistency to the use of letters or numbers for days, weeks, periods, subjects, etc. At least in relation to the recent class length update. 1. If you were familiar with the Powerschool schedule layout from last year or the year before - forget what you knew! Powerschool will continue to be a very valuable tool for tracking attendance, assignments, and grades, but so far is not updated/helpful for the newest schedule changes. 2. If you do look at Powerschool for schedules (current desktop version), the most "accurate" seems to be the Week View (not Matrix View) under the "My Schedule" tab - although it doesn't appear to be fully uploaded yet. 3. The "Classes" tab on the current mobile version of Powerschool is based on 4 periods in one day, and does not accurately reflect the new 2 classes per day set-up. 4. Monday through Thursday will go by the actual name of the days of the week, as opposed to being referred to as "Day A, Day B, Day C, Day D." 5. Subjects are referred to as letters. Example only: "A" is Math, "B" is Gym, "C" is Co-op, "D" is English. 6. On the updated schedule layout (see photo), the schedule for Fridays would still be on a 4 week rotation, but it should read: Week 1: Friday = Monday Week 2: Friday = Tuesday Week 3: Friday = Wednesday Week 4: Friday = Thursday *Make sure your child checks their school email (gnspes) for a message from the school, which will indicate which classroom to report to on the first day of school. From there, they will receive more information from their teachers and can ask any questions they may have. I hope this helps!
