Happy Thursday! Here are your weekly #Thursdayrunnerhighlights! Meet Darren! Darren is a 53 year old small business owner who's making the most out of this crazy time! ... Since the beginning of the pandemic in March, he was determined to tackle new fitness goals! He went from running 5km runs to running over 30 km runs to date! Darren shows us that age is just a number and that we can make the best out of a very trying time. Darren is the team captain for Darren's RunRun team which is raising money for North Bend Medical Center. Even though Gyms are closed, running outdoors will always be out there for us to do! Way to go Darren! Keep up the great work and stay active! #myisolationrun# #mynextraceisbymyself #socialdistancing #myrun #justrun #isolationrun #covidfundraising #runnerscommunity #runnersmotivation #runnersoffacebook #runnerscommunity

Happy #WarmUpWednesday! Miss leg day? Well we got some great stretches to help get those quads, hamstrings and knees nice and loose from all that sitting we do! Try these stretches out at home and they can definitely keep you warm as the weather gets colder! Stretch 1: Lying Quad Stretch... 1. Lie on one side. 2. Keep your bottom leg straight and bend your top knee so your foot is by your butt. 3. Hold your top foot with your hand, pulling it toward your butt. 4. Keep your hips stable so you're not rocking back as you pull. 5. Hold for 30 seconds to 2 minutes. 6. Switch sides and repeat. Stretch 2: Knees To Chest 1. Lie on your back and pull your knees into your chest with both hands. 2. Keep your lower back on the floor. 3. Hold for 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Stretch 3: Standing Hamstring Stretch: 1. Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart, knees slightly bent, arms by your sides. 2. Exhale as you bend forward at the hips, lowering your head toward floor, while keeping your head, neck and shoulders relaxed. 3. Wrap your arms around backs of your legs and hold anywhere from 45 seconds to two minutes. 4. Bend your knees and roll up when you're done. Give these a try at home and you'll be sure to let loose all that tension in your body! Have a safe and happy Wednesday all! #isolationrun #myisolationrun #mynextraceisbymyself #fitnesschallenge #socialdistancing #COVIDfundraising #fitnessgoals #endurancesports #stretchingisimportant #stretching #supporthealthcareworkers #myrun #justrun #runnerschallenge #runnerscommunity

#TuesdayWorkoutTips! Walking is one of the best things you can do to stay active. Studies have shown that walking for at least 11 minutes a day, may help decrease the long term effects of sitting for a long period of time. We all have found ourselves stuck at home and often times may feel bored with nothing to do. Studies show that around 30 minutes of movement is the preferred time length for movement in a day. Sure the weather may be getting colder, but that's why we got h...ats and coats! Plus winter atmospheres are very appealing to the eye to look at while strolling. Also you can check out many peoples great Christmas decorations outdoors! So slap on your boots and mitts and go take in the great outdoors! Take your dog on a walk, go on a socially distant walk with family and friends and most importantly stay active and healthy! Have a safe Tuesday everyone! #isolationrun #myisolationrun #mynextraceisbymyself #fitnesschallenge #socialdistancing #COVIDfundraising #fitnessgoals #endurancesports #walking #walkingadventures #supporthealthcareworkers #myrun #justrun #runnerschallenge #runnerscommunity
