On this #MartinLutherKingDay, we celebrate the triumphs and lasting accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His commitment to peace, equality, and justice for all cannot be overstated. We continue to uphold these values as we reflect on his tremendous legacy. In cities across the globe, over 1000 streets are named in memory of Dr. #MartinLutherKing, like this one in Jerusalem, Israel. These monuments serve as a testament to the profound impact of his legacy, not only in the United States but in the rest of the world.

OTD: Eliezer Ben Yehuda, the father of the modern Hebrew language, was born on 7 January 1858. Growing up in Eastern Europe, Ben Yehuda was a passionate student of the biblical Hebrew texts, having read the Torah, Mishna, and Talmud by the early age of 12. Throughout his career, Ben Yehuda would spearhead the enlightenment of the Hebrew language, reviving it in the modern era. As an early member of the Zionist movement, he would also campaign to establish Hebrew as the offic...ial language of the future State of Israel. In Israel, his birthday is commemorated as Hebrew Language day, which falls each year on the 21st of Tevet in the Hebrew calendar. This year, Hebrew Language Day took place on January 4th. Happy birthday Eliezer Ben Yehuda!

The Embassy of Israel in Canada stands with the transgender community--and the LGBTQ+ community as whole--in helping uplift its members, and fighting transphobia, and all other forms of discrimination and violence. We will remember.
