Our dad Athanasios (Tommy) Adamopoulos is very fond of his boat Saint Nicholas . Saint Nicholas is the patron Saint In Greece of seafarers. Yesterday, a family friend (the Loveless family) brought his family in for dinner. The first visit to the new location. His youngest son, was very curios to where the big boat was. Once I showed them where it was, he was a happy little guy. #got to see the boat.

Although it was a Herculean effort by the ithaka team to work with all of our guests to adjust seatings. Dr Bonnie, whom we follow and respect. Dealt restaurants a poorly timed last minute (24 hours notice)in which created an unnecessary wrench in all restaurants NYE planning. Everyone wants to be safe, be kind, be nice. But this was definitely not nice. A very special thank you to our team that worked so hard, and our guests who were SO understanding. Moving forward in 2021 let everyone communicate better. A big thank you for all our team working really hard to prepare Ithaka for the next chapter. It has not always been easy, there have been challenges, unexpected surprises, and obstacles. We have had many friends offer to give us a hand in transforming this space into something special. We ...hope our fans and loyal guests will appreciate what we are preparing. Our chairs were filled with thousands of wonderful people, who we loved serving. We look forward to continuing the journey with all of our friends and guests. We appreciate the love, we are thankful for the support, and well wishes. We are blessed to have so many friends, fans, guests & loyal Ithakans contacting us via phone/emailing/texting/social media etc. We are so fortunate to have so many wanting to see Ithaka reopen. It has been a difficult road for all these last months. We are working so very hard to renovate our new space. We had October 1st as our target, but in order to ensure everything is just right....We may open shortly after our original target date. We will keep you posted. The Adamopoulos family home was on "Karatza street" ( ) This is a photo of the house that my grandparents raised our dad Thanasis, my uncle Chris, and aunt Maria in Patras Greece. Yiayia Eleni(grandma) was always cooking in her modest kitchen. Mama Maria was taught hands on by Yiayia Eleni and added her own flair to the family recipes. We cannot wait to serve our best Greek food at Ithaka to all of our amazing guests.

In Canada many street signs are green. In Greece the street signs are blue and white. This is a replica of the sign my fathers family had their home in Patras. ODOS KARATZA .

Of all the photos I have taken of my parents Tommy (Athanasios Adamopoulos) and Mama Maria (Maria Adamopoulos) this may be one of my favourites. This the village area where my mother was born in Greece very close to Nafpaktos. She showing us around telling me the stories of the area. As my dad walked ahead, Mama Maria picked up a stick waving through the grass and I saw the little girl in her. Our Parents have been the foundation of our approach to Greek food and hospitality. We appreciate their continued love and support.
