Messages to our partners and clients: The Port of Montreal is open. In the wake of the Quebec government's announcement calling for non-essential businesses to close no later than midnight on March 24, and to stay closed through April 13, several partners and clients have contacted us to see what the situation is with port activities. The Port of Montreal remains open. The Port of Montreal provides essential services, especially to food companies and the medical and pharmaceu...tical sectors. We carry on our work. Under federal jurisdiction, the Montreal Port Authority continues to operate, same as all the other Canadian port authorities, to maintain regional and Canada-wide supply chains. The same obviously applies to truck and rail transportation activities that are linked to the agri-food and medical supply chain. At the same time, Port teams have adopted many measures, as directed by Transport Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada, to ensure everyone's safety. The Port will keep following the authorities' recommendations and will do everything necessary to ensure that its activities continue in complete safety, in collaboration with our many partners and clients. Announcement for Customers Dear Valued Client, We are witnessing unprecedented health and economic impacts due to the global COVID-19 outbreak. We all know, this situation is changing rapidly, and above all, please stay safe and take care of your business and families. ... We at ITN Logistics are doing whatever we can, to continue to serve you during this uncertain period, and have implemented various contingency plans to minimize risk to our employees, and disruption to your supply chain. Our offices across Canada remain open and fully functional, however given the government mandated closing of schools and many public places, a significant number of our employees have opted to work remotely, and have all the tools at their disposal to do so. We continue to maintain close communication with our internal and external warehouse facilities, as well as carriers and Canada Customs. The international supply chains are challenged by important and responsible government decrees issued to reduce and slow the rate of COVID-19 infections. Governments have universally understood the importance of continuing to ensure the maintenance of essential supplies and services, and transport whether by air, ocean and/or truck is a significant part of that effort. With only a few specific exceptions factories and warehouses remain open, and we and our agents worldwide are allowed to pick-up, transport and deliver cargo within regions and across borders with regularity. Marine traffic while impacted by schedule changes and an imbalance of container equipment, our experience indicates that most ports and carriers are maintaining close to normal operations. Unfortunately, global air cargo has been most severely impacted due to the various restrictions on passenger travel, and the withdrawal of flights as passenger volumes decline, however to compensate we have identified various freighter options. ITN continues to be proactive in sourcing alternative routings as needed for both ocean and air transport. We continue to work closely with our global partners, to ensure you the best service that can be offered, during these trying times. Paramount is the safety and wellbeing of our employees, our customers and their families.
