The Make Art! Friday gang visited the Alternator Centre For Contemporary Art last week! They received a guided tour of the current exhibitions by Assistant Director, Melany Nugent, viewed "Before Demolition" by Amy Neufeld and "Objects in Suspension" by Meg Yamamoto, and then had a lively discussion about re-purposing and re-arranging objects to make art. Summer Youth Program 2018 We are excited to be offering two four-week summer youth programs this year. Week 1 focuses on social skills, awareness, and personal presentation and hygiene.... Week 2 focuses on team work and bus skills, personal goal setting, and social skills. Week 3 focuses on budgeting and cooking, water safety, body awareness and teamwork, and self-esteem. Week 4 focuses on career goals, emotional intelligence, and a fun program wind-up. To register, get a referral through the Ministry of Children and Family Development. A new year awaits, full of promise. Here is my suggestion for a universal New Year’s resolution; go easy on yourself. Pat yourself on the back. Look at your successes, not your failures, your joys not your sorrows. Enjoy the little things in life; the waves at the beach, the sun shining through the clouds, and the smile of a child. Give yourself a break and accept yourself the way you are. No New Years resolutions are needed!
