Tasty tech bytes How to check if an app is safe to download on your phone Avoid installing apps from outside the Google Play or App Store even if it seems you’re getting a better deal.... Check the reviews, a reputable app will have a good variety. A fake one will have a handful of 5 stars only. Check for spelling and grammar issues in the title and app information. Fake apps are created quickly and sloppily.

During this cold weather be sure that you don't leave your electronics in your vehicle. If you do, then be sure to bring them in and get them warmed up to room temperature otherwise you could damage the internal parts. Also be aware of static electricity and to be sure you 'ground' yourself before plugging in anything or touching screens, etc.

SASKTEL EMAIL SCAM ALERT. If you receive an email supposedly from Sasktel telling you that the classic version of their email is about to expire and to click on the LOGIN to sign in, DON'T DO IT. Look at the email address that it came from. Legitimate email from Sasktel will ALWAYS have a @sasktel.net return email address. DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK as then you may have opened the door for hackers. Just delete the email. Pass this along to friends and family.

THERE IS NO NEED TO PANIC WITH YOUR WINDOWS 7 COMPUTER. IT IS NOT GOING TO CRASH AND BURN AND DIE. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO UPGRADE TO WINDOWS 10. You are just no longer going to receive PHONE SUPPORT from Microsoft, and also as long as you have Virus Protection, you are in good shape, However, should you choose to purchase a new computer with windows 10 please be sure to expect a major learning curve. Please share this with family and friends.

Delete the email or text message.... DO NOT: Reply to these messages Click on any links within these messages Enter or send any personal information The message, often directing you to a website that looks like that business's legitimate website, will ask for your personal information (passwords, credit card information, social insurance, or bank account numbers). SaskTel will NEVER ask you for your passwords, social insurance number, banking or credit card information, or any other confidential information in an email or text message. Windows 7 users - do not dispair. Your computer will continue to run for years and years (as long as you keep it tuned up). Microsoft is stopping support for Windows 7 - this means that if you CALL Microsoft on a windows 7 issue, they will not support you. Also, as long as you have a good antivirus, paid or free versions, then you are in good shape. Some softwares in time may require you to use Windows 10. You can contact me to see if your computer can be upgraded or not.
