In celebration of National Energy Day in Portugal, we'd like to celebrate the achievements that our mother company IVO Cutelarias - Portugal has done through energy saving initiatives. In 2016, the first phase of the project began by installing 2,000 photovoltaic solar panels, which reduced the annual electric power consumption by approximately 28%. The second phase which will start in June, will involve installing an additional 1,768 new photovoltaic solar panels. With this... new photovoltaic plant, they predict a reduction in annual electric power consumption by about 32%, so in total, a reduction in energy consumption of 60%! In addition to these new implementations, the IVO factory also replaced all the company's lights to LED technology. With these measures, they will be able to reduce about 610 tonnes of CO2/year, the equivalent of CO2 collected by 3782 trees! Congratulations to the IVO factory for its initiatives to reduce electrical energy consumption, and promote a more sustainable factory and world that we live in!
