I have to say that when you get the hang of it, it’s pretty awesome tool that has an unlimited amount of options.... You can basically do everything that’s possible on the web, like using live data or create 100 different unique projects in 100 days. it has it’s own design tool inside but also integrates perfectly with Sketch. If you are not highly experienced with Framer I still recommend to give it a shot. It has a pretty decent and easy learning curve. Apple partners with France-based Simplon for Swift training By Ryan Daws Apple has announced a partnership with French vocational school Simplon who will provide Swift programming language training.... Simplon initially plans to launch their Swift training in Paris and Lyon in January. All going to plan, the company will expand to elsewhere in the country. Participants will enroll in a four-week program which has been developed by Apple itself along with various academic experts. In addition to the program, Apple will provide funding to recruit more teachers and help with their own training. The Silicon Valley giant will also provide access to hardware including iPhones, iPads, and Macs. The program will add on to Simplon’s existing seven-month Web development program. Apple’s program is not entirely philanthropic and, of course, will help to bolster its App Store from the effort. The initiative may even lead to improving Apple’s own future workforce. Swift is an open source language by Apple but is primarily only used for the company’s platforms. Apple has been aggressive in Swift training around the world, targeting educational institutions as well as independent learners. Earlier this month, Apple announced it would be providing over 2,000 free coding sessions during EU Code Week which ran October 6th-21st with at least one free session every day in every Apple store throughout Europe. Starting with Google’s image-shrinking tool, ‘Squoosh’ is meant to launch almost instantly, and then [perform] a smooth UI even when it’s doing heavy work, including using Web Assembly to do more with codecs the browser doesn’t have baked in.... The open source tool supports a variety of web formats like MozJPEG and WebP and traditional ones like PNG. It enables a 1:1 visual comparison of the original image and its compressed version to make images web-ready. After running the app for the first time, Squoosh can even run offline. Squoosh is available now on all major browsers although, of course, it’s optimized for Chrome where the team is especially proud of the app’s ability to offer a consistently smooth UI even when the app is undertaking a heavy load of work. Webflow allows designers to create sites in relatively short time while using a relatively similar interface to Photoshop.... Although you do not need to know the code to work with this tool, it is possible to export and change the site’s HTML / CSS tags according to the customer’s needs. You can find full integration with Google fonts, high-quality cms, access to the code, storage and full export of the design code. It should be noted that webflow is great for simple static sites. Chrome OS turns down Oreo in favor of some Pie By Ryan Daws Analyzing the latest Canary build of Chrome OS reveals it will jump from Nougat to Pie, skipping the Oreo version of Google’s system.... For a while now, Chrome OS has been stuck on the Nougat (7.1) version of Android when running apps. With the release of Pie, it makes sense for Google to jump straight to its latest version. Chrome Unboxed first discovered the apparent plans. Currently, the update is only available for the original $1,000 Pixelbook so few will be able to access the build for themselves. Google will almost certainly bring the update to other high-end Chromebooks such as its new Pixel Slate. However, the company is yet to provide a timeline. Canary builds are the cutting-edge, potentially most unstable versions of Google’s operating system that are delivered nightly. After features become more stable, they’ll move into the beta and developer channels before they’re deemed ready for the wider public in the stable channel.
