Well the time change is here again and also time to change the batteries in your smoke and Co2 detectors. Also check the date on the panel beside the battery door. If your detector is more than 10 years old it is recommended that you replace your old with a new one as they become unreliable if 10 years or older. Keep in mind that you can now get combination smoke and Co2 detectors with a one time ten year battery lifespan.

I know it is still early in the season but Boat U.S. has posted a caution that i am passing on. In 2018 The Kidde Company recalled about 30 million fire extinguishers. Before you start your boating season check please check to see if your extinguisher was on the recall list. If You are unsure if your extinguisher is on the list i would be happy to verify for you.

The new combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors make things even easier for the home owner. These units actually talk to you about the risk detected.
