Ways to change your unwanted behavior: *talk to someone and tell them how you feel *apologize to the person you have been bullying *stop hanging around with other bullies *make new friends; form positive relationships with people... *set yourself some goals such as; I will be a friendly person today, I won't be nasty to anyone today, I won't hurt anyone today *talk to your friends and ask them to help you stop *find some positive ways to help you deal with some feelings and emotions *don't take your hurt out on someone else *find ways to boost your own self esteem And you can pledge to: *work together to create a healthy environment *respect the right of each individual *treat everyone equally and respect them for their individual diversity

Listen, Learn and Act against Racism. Recognizing bullying behaviors in others is quite easy, but are we able to see those behaviors in yourselves? Have you ever called someone names? Physically hurt someone? Used your size to intimidate or threaten others? Made fun of people you perceive as different? Made fun of a person's culture of religion? Laughed at someone because they have a disability? Said nasty things about another person's weight, hair, skin colour or cloth...es? Taken someone's belongings? Made fun of a person's sexuality? Spread rumors about someone? Said nasty things behind someone's back? Excluded someone from your group on purpose? Sent a nasty or threatening email or text? Posted or shared nasty comments about someone on a social networking site? If you can say yes to any of these questions, then you were probably involved in or displaying bullying behaviour towards someone and made them feel badly. Let's learn from these experiences and pledge to: *call someone their name - no mean nicknames. *have kind hands and feet that do not kick or hurt *ask someone to play when they look lonely *use kind words *spend time with others who may look, think or act differently than us.

We encourage our school community members to make a pledge to stand up against racism and discrimination whenever and wherever you see it. Listen - when you don't hear what people have to say, they make more noise! Ways I can Listen - rally together to support those who are being bullied or discriminated against; remind them they are not alone. Allow others to use their voice and respect differing opinions, viewpoints, backgrounds, cultures, race, religions, sexual orienta...tion and abilities. Provide a safe space for people to talk about what has happened to them. Remember to listen to others without the need to respond but the intent to understand their perspective and viewpoint. Most important - acknowledge when you have done something to hurt or offend someone and make a plan on how you will make things better.
