What an emotional night it was for my Buyers! Up against 27 other offers on this one! We have made countless attempts to secure them a home, and even with our amazing offers put forth, someone would always go in higher. The shocking thing about January's stats? The average price of single detached homes has jumped up to $853,945, almost $100,000 more than what it was in December! It's been so tough for a lot of buyers recently, but we do have hopes this will level off at some point! Homes are selling in multiple offers (the most I had to compete with was 35!), and for well over asking (I've seen one go $500,000 over asking in Waterloo!). The Covid pandemic certainly didn't make the housing market crash in 2020 like some predicted- but what do we see happening in 2021?
