I have been moving on with the Gospel of John, and today I've begun posting on section 13, with sections about about the arrest of Jesus and his questioning by Annas, according to John. You can have a look starting with http://wrestlingwiththebible.ca/GJohnSec13.0c.html

Here, as promised, is the translation and commentary for John 17, the high-priestly prayer. It was not an easy section to comment on, and I am sure that I will revisit it in some detail during my second draft revisions. Now I will be on to the next 4 chapters, Jn 18-21, with their important narratives of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. The end of the first draft is in sight! Hi all - I have progress to report: Today I added my sermon from Holy Week and also I have now completed the latest section of the John Commentary. I've now finished chapter 16 of John and am about to embark on the prayer of ch17. Enjoy!

I am very happy to say that I have posted a new section of my commentary on John for the first time since last Fall! John 16.16-24 is the latest section to be added. I just added the next section (a short one, Jn 16.12-15) to Wrestling with the Bible: you can see it at www.wrestlingwiththebible.ca/GJohnSec12.2.9.all.html - Please have a look! Just a warning that it will probably be a while before I am able to complete the next section, due to some medical issues (a complicated change-over from one medication to another). But as soon as that is resolved I shall be forging ahead with the rest of chapter 16, and even delving into chapter 17!

With Christmas coming, my pace is slowing down, with church services, family visiting, and all sorts of preparations (like making mincemeat for the pie) claiming more of my time. But I am still hoping to have the next section of the John commentary up by New Year's. Meantime, there are eleven complete sections of the commentary, going up to the end of John 12, and a partial twelfth section, going to the end of John 13, up, as well as an introdution and appendixes. So to update where we stand - my latest sermon, for Remembrance Day 2018, was added to the Sermons section and the John commentary is drafted through chapter 13. It now has 5 appendixes, the latest about the Virgin Birth in John.
