Jacob's Legacy of Love 03.06.2021

Another angel gone to soon. So sad that we cannot get the information far enough and to the right people.

Jacob's Legacy of Love 24.05.2021

Last weekend we went for a drive to Kettle Point and stopped to take some pictures. There was a police officer there and I went over to ask him a question and realized I knew him from when he was a teenager. We talked about what had been going on in our lives the past nearly twenty years, and I told him what had happened to Jacob. He had not heard of TCG/ The Pass Out Challenge, so I gave him a Jacob’s Legacy bracelet and told him to check out this page. It is imperative ...that Police Officers know about this activity in case they see kids with possible signs of having done it or God forbid, they are called to a scene and a child has died. For the sake of the family they need to get the cause of death right. Far too many times a child has been planning a party, getting their gear ready for a sport, making lunch for the next day, ironing their clothes for the next day, looking forward to a date....and half an hour later they are dead, and it is ruled suicide. And the parents know that that is wrong but don’t know what happened. Officials need to look farther and get it right. See more

Unfortunately the support group Page I am part of that is for parents and family of kids that have died from TCG/POC has grown quite a bit this past year. Most are kids from a he U.S. but also one from New Zealand and one from England. This activity has not gone away, and it can and does happen anywhere and everywhere. Please read the article on the Alberta hockey team that had kids participating on this activity in the dressing room. Remember this is Not unusual behaviour! It continues to happen! Parents just don’t usually find out till a child gets hurt or dies.

https://ca.news.yahoo.com/calgary-minor-hockey-club-investi Please share!! This is the Choking Game/ PassOut Challenge!! No matter how this activity is done there is some amount of Brain Damage!! Anytime the brain is deprived of oxygen for ANY length of time, brain damage occurs, whether it is outwardly noticeable or not. This damage is irreversible and cumulative each time this activity is done. ... This is not a new activity....it is not an activity that is linked to any socio economic group, religion, race, or country. As you will read it happens in lockerooms, it also happens on schoolyards, at church groups or camps, at Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and anywhere else kids gather. I even had a friend who is a teacher inform me he walked into his classroom and kids where participating in TCG/POC. The class was a grade 11 or 12 leadership type class! It happens everywhere! No child is too smart to try it unless they know the facts and that it can Kill them anytime they try it. In the groups of kids I have spoken to, their biggest reaction came Not when I told them that they could die, but when I told them that they could poop or pee themselves when they did it. As I said, this is not a new activity, it has been around for decades if not longer. It will not go away until we talk about it like we talk about every other dangerous thing we tell our kids about. Fear of talking to our kids about dangerous things, can be deadly. I wish I had had the information to share with Jacob. It would have saved his life.

I don't often post something that is not TCG/Pass Out Challenge related but the world today needs this song. Jacob lived in a world of beautiful colour but did not see black and white or any other skin tone. He treated all people the same. He wanted everyone to be happy. He apologized to me when I had to reprimand him, not to get out of anything, but for disappointing me and making me sad. In a world full of hate Jacob was a bright and shining Light.

So sad. The Mom of the victims friend says that if the victim had not been alone, the outcome may have been different. Yes, he could have ended up blind or unable to walk, unable to talk, lose bladder or bowel control or any other possibilities similar to stroke victims. Make no mistake...this game Is Deadly! Each time that someone passes out doing this activity there Is Brain Damage even though it may not be evident by looking at the victim. The damage is irreversible and accumulative, each time the activity is done. The activity can also weaken the blood vessels, as the blood flow is stopped andbuilds up, then blasts through the vessels when pressure is released from the neck or chest. The victim could literally die at anytime from a brain bleed, after doing this activity.

Most cases of TCG/ The Pass Out Challenge deaths occur in boys 11-13 years old, but there have been cases of children as young as 6 and even into their 20’s. The following is a post from a Grandmother who lost her 16 year old Grandson JD, in April. This is just one of literally thousands of stories of TCG/POC deaths. I know a lot of people are asking why the need for prayers for my family right now...out of respect for my son, I waited to put this out there. ... In the wee hours yesterday morning after his parents went to bed, my 16 year old grandson decided to live video chat with some friends from school on xbox. We dont know the specifics or why it even came up, but my grandson gave into temptation and decided to do the choke challenge or hanging challenge, whatever you want to call it. He gave no consideration to the fact that he was alone, or counted on his friends to bail him out if he got in trouble. Unfortunately, his friends only sat and watched him do this challenge and did nothing!!! My beautiful grandson's life was taken from us by a stupid social media challenge. By the time Microsoft found out about the live feed and contacted authorities it was too late. You see these posts all the time about these social media challenges, and you know how stupid they are, and think how dumb people can be for even trying them. But you never know how bad it really is until it hits home. Parents, I cannot stress enough how vigilant you need to be with your children and social media. Even at 16, when you think they are old enough to know better, we still find them doing it! These are totally senseless deaths and CAN be prevented. Maybe not 100%, but parents CAN make an impact. PLEASE, as parents, please pay more attention to what your kids are doing online. I dont want anyone to have go through the pain that my family is dealing with right now from losing our precious boy! I never dreamed I would be burying a grandchild, but this stuff happens....way to often it seems. RIP Joseph Leo Dale Jr.....we will always love you and we will never stop missing you!!! From his Father: I just want to take this opportunity to respond to everyone with my most sincere gratitude. I cannot thank all of you so much for the thoughts and prayers that you have showed our family and my son, JD. This poor decision he made that took his life, whether he was coerced or not, is a terrible tragedy. No parent should ever have to say eternal goodbyes to one of their children. It’s not fair to his 11 yr old brother, who was his best friend, and his 3 yr old sister. This boy had one of the kindest hearts. Please, keep sharing this message. Talk to you kids and maybe through my own sons tragedy it will possibly save a life by showing how real these pointless these stupid challenges are. He will be missed dreadfully by his entire family and all of his friends. I love you and miss you so much son!
