Playing in ANOTHER Sask Curling Tour event at our home club - the Nutana Curling Club. Social distancing and all, playing pretty much the same teams all over again, maintaining that bubble to maximize safety. Didn’t come out of the gate really hot so we are currently 0-1 and at the bottom of the standings. Hopefully we can turn that around with a strong game tonight at 7pm against Scott Manners! Wish us luck!!

Well, not gonna lie and say that yesterday’s loss in the final didn’t sting - it did. We were up 4-0 after 3 and played a great 4th end, looking set to hold Flasch to a single. Feeling the desperation Colton opted against his draw for a single and tried a nearly impossible redirection off our shot stone, which he had to hit less than a centimetre of, and then make contact with our second shot stone to score the deuce. Still up 2 with hammer we played a strong 5th end, but mad...e an uncharacteristic miss on our last, which tied the game. A pick in 6 gave yet another steal, and being forced in 7 signed our fate after Dan made both his ticks against us in 8. All in all it’s still a strong finish for our team, and particularly so because we played 3-handed all weekend. As important as curling is to us, we all have real jobs too. Our lead Quinn is a Nurse, and while he would have loved to have been curling with us all weekend, he was doing something far more important and far more valued to our society. Thank you Quinn and thank you to ALL the health care workers that are tirelessly and selflessly doing what they need to be doing to keep the rest of us safe and healthy. Our next event is back at the Nutana Curling Club on November 13-15, so we hope you will follow along what looks to be an exciting season. Lastly, thank you to our sponsors - we couldn’t do what we do without you. If you have a chance to support these companies please, please do so.
