It’s been another tough week here at YQY but we just want to take a minute to express how much we appreciate our entire YQY airport team. During this unprecedented time, we’ve had to say see you soon to many of our colleagues. Each member of our team goes out of their way to ensure our small airport survives by helping to provide the best airport experience possible. We always say our little airport has a big personality because our team is like no other. We’re so fortunate to be able to work with so many dedicated people. Thank you to every member of our YQY team for your contributions to our airport, our passengers and our entire industry. We miss you and we’ll see you again soon

Disappointing news for our community today. Air Canada’s route from Sydney to Halifax is cancelled for November, this air service has been in place since 1942 - 78 years! Covid has taken a tremendous toll on the aviation sector and our airport. We need to find safe ways to move forward before the damage done is irreparable. Our Province needs to move toward with a rapid testing pilot program, as a safe alternative to the 14-day quarantine.
